1-test...Think its right for me???

I ran into an old college friend this weekend and found out he has been lifting for about 2 years; his physique was pretty impressive (especially from were it was when he started). Anyhow, he mentioned this test-1 which I have spent the past couple hours researching in old posts here. My friend claims it worked wonders by helping him put on muscle mass while loosing body-fat at the same time. I was intitialy skeptical but after researching, I am somewhat intrigued.

Here is my situation: I am 30 years old and have been lifting seriously for about 4 months. My progress has been great and I am currently sitting at 205lbs with about 24% bodyfat. My current goal is to cut down my bodyfat while maintaing as much lean mass as possible. My diet is clean, around 2200 cal/day, with carbs centered around weight training sessions. I am currently doing a 5x5 4 days/week and cardio 5 days a week. My buddy claimed that by taking test-1 I would be able to increase my lean muscle mass while loosing body-fat at the same time. This is were it began sounding a little to good to be true. I know I missed the best time to put muscle mass on in my 20's, when my natural testoserone level was at its peak (this was also one of his reasons for using test-1). Opinions?? Would I be better off waiting until I lowered my bodyfat and then use test-1 on a bulking cycle? My buddy claims that he was at around 27% bodyfat when he started using it. Also, from reading over the past couple years of posts, everyone seemed worried about this stuff becoming illegal. I am assuming that since it is still on the market that this is no longer a concern? Any advice is very much appreciated.

I believe everyone should have several years of natural training before resorting to steroids. Using steroids early on as a crutch will only hurt you in the long run. You should have no problem dropping from 24% BF to 12%-15% while maintaining LBM. Make sure you are taking a good multi vitamin and getting your essential fats from flax or fish oil. If you have problems keeping your protein intake high a good protein powder would be useful.

Finally, 1-test has nothing to do with testosterone and WILL NOT raise your natural testosterone levels but will have the exact opposite effect, suppression will be VERY harsh.

Thanks for the reply. It seems the people I run into are always looking for a "get big quick fix". I think I will stick to my diet, creatine, and whey protein for a while.
