Fox News Special "Truth About Steroids" - Elite Members Interviewed - watch the clip!

Dear friends and fellow athletes,

This Sunday, Fox News will present the most sensationalized portrayal of Anabolic Steroid use that has ever been shown on network television. Furthermore, without a shred of scientific proof, Fox intends to tell America that anabolic steroids increase the risk of liver cancer, heart disease, stroke, infertility, cause delayed growth and make the athletes using them suicidal.

Click here to watch the shocking promo clip for the show.

After speaking with me, Rick Collins, and members of Elite Fitness and after spending hours on the EliteFitness Discussion Forums, this is the "unbiased" story we get from them.

Trust me, you won't believe what they have concocted.

The following are two preview articles from FoxNews.com about the upcoming special.
The show to air - Sunday, June 20 at 9 p.m ET and 12 a.m. ET

Breaking Point: The Truth About Steroids - excerpt from FoxNews.com

Hosted by Brian Kilmeade

There have been a lot of stories about steroids in the news recently; most of them involve the controversy swirling around professional athletes.

But this "Breaking Point" investigation uncovered another side to the story that is far more troubling...

There are now about three million Americans taking steroids. Between 500,000 and one million of them are teenagers.

The downside goes well beyond cheating. In fact - for some families - it's become a matter of life and death.

The abuse of steroids is also moving beyond athletics. Many of the boys and girls taking these drugs are trying to achieve what they believe are perfect bodies.

Since steroids are illegal without a doctor’s prescription, how are they getting them?

"Breaking Point" went undercover to find out...

"The Truth About Steroids" is another in an important series of investigative documentaries brought to you by the staff of the Fox News Channel. Don't miss it!

Steroids: What You Need To Know
By Dr. Jordan Metzl, M.D. for FOX Fan Central

Parents should be aware that by the time their child is playing junior high school sports, other kids on the team are probably taking ergogenic substances that are banned and/or untested for long-term side affects on adolescents. Most studies report 8 to 10 percent user rates for anabolic steroids in high school boys, and a recent study indicated that girls are beginning to take steroids as well. Even more shocking, a survey-study of junior high students found that 2 to 3 percent of junior high students reported taking anabolic steroids.

Signs of Anabolic Steroid Use:

* Rapid change in body build compared to peers, with muscle being put on much more quickly than previously and compared to peers.

* Psychological symptoms: rage, temper, aggressiveness, getting into fights.

* Rapid onset of acne.

Medical Conditions Associated with Steroids:

* Anabolic Steroids: Premature puberty, development of facial hair (girls), increased risk of liver cancer

* Diuretics: electrolyte abnormalities leading to cardiac arrhythmia

* Creatine: water retention, increased risk of kidney failure

What to Do if You Suspect Your Child May Be Using Steroids:

* Discuss it. Take your child to a neutral site, away from home and distractions such as siblings, and discuss your concerns honestly and openly. Don’t go behind their back!

* Get professional help. Even if your child says, "I won’t do this anymore," he probably will. When winning becomes the only focus, thinking turns cloudy. The best thing to do is seek help outside of school. Start with your pediatrician. A local adolescent-medicine doctor would also be an important resource.

* Use thoughtful discouragement. If kids are taking anabolic steroids, they are most certainly taking them to improve their sports performance. Parents and coaches need to understand that these substances work: athletes actually do get stronger and faster with anabolic steroids. You must acknowledge these benefits before discouraging use or you will lose credibility with your child. You must point out, however, that the downside of anabolic steroids outweighs the good. Using these substances increases the risk of liver cancer, heart disease, stroke, and infertility, and in kids who haven’t started puberty, they decrease adult size.

* Discuss with other parents. If one athlete is caught taking steroids chances are many others on the team are doing the same thing. For parents, it’s important not to bury your head in the sand and pretend that it couldn’t be happening with your child. If others on the team are doing this, your child has at least thought about it too.

Dr. Jordan Metzl, M.D. is the Medical Director at the Sports Medicine Institute for Young Athletes in Manhattan and the author of The Young Athlete: A Sports Doctor's Complete Guide for Parents.

Of COURSE I believe what they've concocted. It's the same sensational journalism they always have. Facts and real information be damned. They're a complete disgrace to their profession. And we complain about how screwed up other countries new programs are?

Dude, he took "D-bol" and raged on the basketball court!

i know, you would think there would be some balance and check system for something as powerful as the NEWS ......

"the ultimate result of steroid abuse is suicide"......it does say "steroid abuse"
but still really misleading......

irresponsible people wanting to grab viewers :worried:

the only thing they check for are tits and 4-letter words. no one is interested in protecting you from lies and biased information.

that kid doesn't even look like he's ever touched the weights berfore! What a moron, he gives users a bad name. " I didn't know how to deal with myself while on steroids" what a pussy...all he took were fuckin Dbol! i'm not even gonna waste my time watching this shit.

The problem with a lot of the legislation in the country is that it brings everyone down to the level of the weakest person. Survival of the fittest is dead.

Damn - no audio here.... WTF was it saying about that kid?

I like the kid they picked... looks like a big fat loser.... lacrosse player? Dude looked like he hadn't picked up a weight in his life... What a douchebag... He is probably one of those "megadose" vets up in AAS board...

And how old was he anyways? Maybe his mommy gave him too many d-bol...

idiot.

This is freakin ridiculous.. Yeah its a bummer the kid got popped by his mommy.. However.. WHAT THE FUCK WAS HE THINKING? Stupid teenagers not knowing what the hell they are doing giving it a bad rap for people that know what the heck is goin on.. The kid could have at least looked like he juiced.. It looks lie he juiced up on jelly doughnuts and fatburgers... Lame.. Media.. Lame.. I got one for the media.. how about we make a show on the truth behind out government and the fucking crooked politicians instead of making the normal public look bad all the time. Lame Lame Lame..

I heard it all, but I was more interested in the hidden message begging Al-Quida to bomb the shit out of FOX networks so it can no longer put out such trash and America can have a free, truely unbiased new organization. :chomp:

yes, god forbid more and more people start working out and looking good......then the people who turn their life over to a job and don't workout at all will have more things to feel stressed out about.......

here is what a middle management guy who spends all day at work
thinks about when he sees someone who has good amount of muscle, etc...and looks good in public: " Damn, i wish i looked like that, but i don't have time, wait a minute i do, i'm just lazy, oh and i hate physical fatigue and pain......fuck! and look who he is with, a gorgeous girl, who i can only spend loads of cash to spend time with....fuck!!! .....what
can i tell myself to feel better about this situation, oh yeah..... that guy is on
steroids, he doesn't have to work hard for that good body, and he will die really soon.....there, i feel all better about myself"

~~~~~~~~
imagine if everyone started looking better and feeling better about them selves......the world would end.....
and it's not possible to educate people on smart and responsible A.A.S use.....we can only educate them on how to put on a condom or drink responsible
just being a little sarcastic :)
dude fox isn't the only one... besides - they would never do that - who would tell us about their bombing harmless iraqi's daily?
By looking at the kid, it's plain that it was the HoHo's and not dbol he was taking. He was pissed on the basketball court 'cause his mommy cut him off his sugar and he was throwing a fit. Damn sugar crashes! That tub of lard needs to stay off the twinkies, HoHos and DingDongs diet.
yeah....what the hell is with that ? why is it 9 times out of 10 the people they show who have abused AAS look like shit ?
that really makes people think it's not worth it......guy looks like shit and is having side effects too......
I'm not saying I agree with their story because I don't ever plan on using them so I haven't looked into the safety issues. I have noticed, over the years, many bros on Elite suffering serious consequences from juicing.
Bros that look like Needsize & Quadsweep are what I previously expected to see when I thought of those who have used juice - and even though those guys are huge, I think that they used juice as sparingly and safely as possible.
The new breed of steroid user now seems to use mega-doses while eating poorly and training rarely (JA). The new breed of user seems to be what is depicted in the Fox special and could eventually bring an end to steroid use by stiffer criminal penalties. My guess is this is the reason Quadsweep started his "Bullshit" thread about not using huge doses of steroids - he knows they will do harm to the individual and impact the future of steroid use.
Yes, because we see how that has worked so successfully with heroin, cocaine, ...
he was talking about depression.........post cycle crash, of course there is no PCT, WTF.
the guy looks like total shit, he looks like he never dieted or worked out. he took steroids cuse he thought its the magic shit that will let him grow, and now we have to suffer from listining to his crab.
Rick Collins and I both spoke with them. And I know member AlanChiras did too. No one agreed to go on camera. I really hope that the kid they found for the show did not come from Elite.
We also know they used Elite for extensive research and frequented the Boards.
The main problem I have with what Fox has done is that it will likely have the exact opposite of the intended effect. Steroids don't lead to suicide and anyone with half a brain knows this. There are MANY good reasons why teens should NOT take steroids. But if the media lies to them and uses scare tactics, IMHO it will only have the opposite effect because they lose all credibility.
And the fact the Bush Sr. criminalized steroids means that adults who make a personal decision to use steroids for cosmetic purposes cannot work with a doctor as they could if they were pursuing liposuction, botox, or other esthetic procedures -- all of which have inherent risks.
What else do you expect from FOX?!! Fox is the kind of station that puts out "Who wants to marry a millionaire" and bullshit like that!
He must have thought that the 22 guage pin with a few CC's of test was all he had to lift for a phenomenal physique. Steroids are magic you just grow without any effort.....that fat ass spent more time in the cookie jar than doing any type of physical activity. He deserves to have bitch tits for being stupid!
The world is full of idiots who will ruin everything for the rest of us. In this case, however, what's the worst that can happen? AAS are already illegal. The worst thing that can happen is that they will change _your_ mind.
I hope the same George. Elite does not need to be dragged through the mud on national television and have even more negative lies spread about the AAS. Scare tactics do not work with kids i.e. "the war on drugs" it isn't really working is it? More teenagers are using drugs, having sex, etc. than ever before. My fear is that the added unwanted publicity will further limit access to avenues of good information like elite fitness. Kids will start coming here trying to score gear and then regulations will start to take place. We as members need to be responsible with our posts and do our best to teach kids about the risks of doing AAS at young ages and also do our best to inform adults about how proper responsible use of these chemicals can increase the quality of life. I think we already do a fair job of this here on elite with the exception of a few.
Oh yeah and just a few words for Fox. You all are a buch of scum liars.
See I agree with everyone on here that says this kid is a retard and just abused steroids thinking he was going to be superman but...(not to defend fox in any way) look at how many kids out there are probably the same as this fat ass who are going to abuse AAS just to look for an easy way out...I went to high school with many kids who did the same thing and became fat pieces of shit. So maybe fox is just trying to scare these idiots who dont really take the time to research AAS before they do it so we will have less FAT FUCKS like this kid.
"In this case, however, what's the worst that can happen? AAS are already illegal. The worst thing that can happen is that they will change _your_ mind"
the worst that will happen is they will put more effort into busting up ug labs, more effort into coming on websites like this and attempting to buy gear, more effort into getting harsher penalties for aas possesion and distribution= nothing good coming from more attention.
yeah. i agree that's bad. but the UG labs will always find a way. where there is a demand, there will always be a supplier. it just pushes the technology forward. what's worse than that is if they succeed in convincing everyone that AAS are as bad as they say.
at least FOX has already discredit itself with their reactionist reporting of every other issue, their ratings are going down and people are getting tired of their bullshit..
I love that Kiran Chetry chic though and that other blond one with the nice neck and curvy body; I think her name is Laurie somthing
:p
they should change their slogan from "Fair and Balanced" to "A load of shit to benefit Bushs relection, but at least we know our chics"
That was a horrible, horrible warping of the truth. It is truly sad to see a large news agency sink to that level of trash reporting. A REAL breaking news report would probably be one where the benefits of AAS were shown. I believe they have a place in medicine AND in enhancement. Why doesn't Fox run a special on female hormones and birth control? How about reporting on the "large number" of people that die from reactions to asperin each year? I'm sorry to rant guys - I just really couldn't believe my eyes/ears while I was watching that clip. Fair and Balanced my ass. More like "Sensationalized and Trumped Up".
wow....so these people claimed to have interviewed from this very site....and they didnt use the other side of the argument?
After looking at that video, seems like they didn't learn anything from here...I hope they do not mention these boards or else we will be in troubles...after that the next step would be protests on the streets
The media cares about 1 thing nd one thing only
Ratings
In order to keep people watching they have to make things more shocking etc.
You can tell people that taking a drug will make their dick smaller or head fall off and if they want to take it they will.
I sure hope they tell to viewers that unlike extacy and other drugs steroids is something that requires serious research but again they (media) really do not care about anything, they will destroy someones life if that brings viewers.
Regardless my Tivo is set
OK, ok, i'm here. I was interviewed too, and they would NOT put me on camera even though I wanted to be. The female producer told me that she was using the info I was giving her on background. And you guys wonder why i'm Gay? Thanks! Alan.
I just sawq the clip, WTF is up with that shit? That kid is fat and fucking scrawny, he was probably depressed cause he got punked, or maybe because he forgot you had to go to the gym. What a shitbrick. The end results of steroid use is suicide? I wish that fucker would use some juice.
It all boils down to people looking for an excuse (scapegoat) for substance abuse whatever it be. You can fill in the blank for reasons for the abuse (big fat fucking NOTE* this is not the substance's fault).
If you abuse a gun by pulling the trigger and swallow a bullet you die, no ifs, ands, or buts. Yet, we are allowed to bare arms, it's our choice. If substances were lethal everyone would die from them no matter how much used.
It's the CHOICE we are giving up.
It's the CHOICE we are giving up.
It's the CHOICE we are giving up.
If the government were sincere about your well being, don't you think that cigarettes and alcohol would be at the top of the list to make them illegal. Do not forget it's all about money for them. I've said it before, if we cry loud enough the government will wipe our ass for us cause we don't know how to do it right and get shit all over our fingers. They will be more than happy to do it for you. Just remember it takes more people to wipe your ass and more people is bigger government, bigger government costs more money, and more money is more taxes.
Another person's problems are their problems, don't try to run my life cause some people want you to run their life. Don't try to protect me and mine. I will protect (educate) me and mine and make my own choices and keep my money.
United States...Land of the Free...Sometimes I wonder
Maybe they paid to that kid from the video. These FUCKING journalists could sale their own country for money and rating; as they do with iraq issues. Of course all the information taken from here will be used for the exact opposite face. They are opportunists, traitors and dirty people. And not enough men to make their own money working straight and hard as an American.
you know what, as stupid as this may sound i was thinking the same thing. i know its not possible, but what if this guy did one cycle, HRT dose. He would think it was a miricle how young he felt and the new energy he produced.
the public has all the wrong ideas of what steroids really do and i dont blame them one bit cause the only feedback they get is the bullshit the media spues out.
After reading that I'm stunned that I've never been attacked by my male friends when they're on. I'm also going to have to have some interventions for them since I hadn't been aware that they were trying to kill themselves.
LOL...
exaclty...just nutz!
In 7 years, I have only seen TWO cases of steroid induced hepatoxicity.
I really wish we could answer their obvious attemps at over-exagerration, because they would get flattenned.
I also love the part where creatine gives you kidney failure......lol
The thing is that they don't HAVE TO show any proof. They just put some QUACK doctor on the stand(Or in the interview as it was), who is being compensated by the media, or works for them as a consultant....and all scientific research goes out the window.
Steroids are an easy target becuse most people don't understand them. Go to ANY chat board that's not fitness-oriented and mention it. You will be massacred verbally even though your verbal opponents always repeat the same lines time after time...those that the media and several others who benefit form the hysteria have brainwashed the public into believing.
I really hope this blows up in their face. What a farce. Specially the suicide part. Now THAT was just competely moronic.
LMFAO!!! Thank has to be one of the gayest clips i have ever seen. Who the hell was that pudgy sack of water talking about steroids/training like he knew something... I bet when him and his buddies were in moms bathroom they were sharing needles too, lol.
One question, Where is the hard research, with double blind experiments etc etc?
When you make an absoulte statment like you are some kind of authority on something like "steroids ultmatley lead to suicide" where is the research?
what sickens me most is the way they used soundbites in the clips 'the end result of steroids is suicide' and 'I just wanted to hit my wife' utter shit, that fat piece of crap kid should be ashamed of himself
I am not trying to sound like a bitch here, but I told people this would happen when this was mentioned months ago. Nothing about Fox news is Fair & Balanced. They are nothing more than an agenda promoting right wing spin machine and those of you who did not think so before, maybe now you realize what a poor news agency they really are. It makes you wonder how much other shit they lie about and put a politcal spin on, doesn't it?
I must say i remember that thread and warned the same. There were actually several members who thought this would be a good idea. That it would allow the public to better understand the benefits of AS if used correctly. I shrugged off this notion at the time because those of us who watch news regulary know the media is all about shock and ratings. Get ready for a witch hunt. This will do nothing, but hurt our sport (the perception of) and possibly cause damage to boards like these.
"the more potent injectables" last i knew neither was really different than the other and anadrol IS the most potent and its an oral.
and yeah the sound bites just added to the insult...the "bathroom trips" had the worst one with that buildup sound as the camera zoomed into the bathrooms
does anyone think about arnold swartzenegger as they are watching this? is he not one of the most succesfull people out there? did he not abuse steroids?
This is no different from the crap that's been levelled against every other drug.
Y'all's outrage is, well, amusing.
I already had arguments with Rick Collins, et. al., about other drugs, which, according to him, were "REAL" drugs that were "REALLY" dangerous.
Apparently, he saw one too many "reefer madness" stories or "ecstasy brain hole" "research" and concluded that OUR drugs are good and their drugs are BAD.
It's funny, but the potheads say the same thing. I have ppl I know who snort E off of countertops, are Adderol addicts, have used everything under the sun but think steroids are "ewww." All of us need to band TOGETHER for SANE drug policy.
There are many of you right here who are never off of roids. You are addicts. Period. Just like the guy who uses coke every chance he gets. He has a job. You have a job. Both of you live lives and have psychological addiction to drugs which aren't physically addictive and don't have withdrawl symptoms. Opiates are different. Pot isn't addicting. There are plenty of people who can't get through the day without a joint, valium, all kinds of stuff. And, this type of behavior is what needs to be avoided.
Scaring kids away from steroids is good, but the truth would be better to do that. But, the bottom line is we need HONESTY about drugs, not bullshit. We have LEGIONS of kids using E every weekend because they KNOW from personal experience that the things they've heard about it are bullshit. And, they take risks in their behavior because nobody really knows what's in a street load of ANYTHING.
Hell, we have counterfeit boards here, shit from god knows where, exact copies of legit gear and who knows what it is? This type of situation is bullshit. The black market has created an unsafe climate for everyone. Even among heroin, the so-called "hardest drug," 80% or more of ODs, hell it's probably 80% for every drug, are caused by the addition of unknown adulterants to the drug. This is 100% caused by black market trafficking.
We are killing people with our nonsense. It is time to demand legalization, decriminalization for ALL drugs.
Some one should put up a Poll:
How many of your limbs have fallen off due to AAS use:
a. 0
b. 1-2
c. 3-4
apparently thats one of the major problems of steroids..
You gotta love this one! Did anybody catch this part? "Look at these steroids that kids can buy by mail order online." Did you see the first frickin website he was showing:
www.legalsteroids.com
(OR)
www.sdi-labs.com
What a fucking joke. The fucking moron wasn't even showing real steroids!!!!!!!!!! :FRlol: :FRlol:
the retard that lost his legs that is what he gets for not getting his fucking infection checked out... good god what does he expect. It is like taking tylonol on an empty stomach getting a bleed alcer and then blaming your problems on tylonol. What happened to personal responsibility
Maybe those who depend on Fox for their news now have a clue. Their representation of just about everything is completely skewed to a conservative agenda. Reality has very little to do with what you see there. Remember, Cheney said it's Fox he depends on entirely for news.
And, incidentally, Elite was warned almost a year ago that this story was in the works and that reporter/researchers were online here. A smiliar story was in the works at CNN. The powers at Elite chose to completely ignore the warning, even though they had an inside track.
so what is your point?what was elite supposed to do?
the fact of the matter is, Fox offered one side of the story. on top of that they offered zero evidence to back their claims.
after this program im just not sure why half of elite fitness hasnt killed them selves.
Hopefully, the Fox poachers read some of my posts, cuz I'm about the only guy in here who can make it through a lengthy one while consistently maintaining proper spelling and grammar. While this isn't rare on the internet, I mean, seriously, guys...do you think that some of the BS here acquits us well? I mean, dudes, luv ya like my luggage and all that, but we're juiceheads, right?
There are many guys here who are NEVER OFF. They hit big cycles and then bridge with primo or DBol or var.
If you are NEVER OFF, you are an ADDICT who has a problem. I totally sympathize, man, I feel great on DBol and can get away with shit athletically that I could when I was 10 years younger and can't anymore. But, if you never come off, you may just have a problem, seriously.
Also, we have teenagers using cycles of multiple drugs I wouldn't touch w/ a 10 foot pole and freaking fat dudes who are using the same stuff. There is a LOT of misuse even amongst the so-called "in-the-know" crowd on this board and the others. So, stop bitching at Fox; steroid users are very EASY targets. WE make ourselves easy targets by our behavior.
A professional Oxy user like Rush or any of a number of high-profile addicts (Matt Perry had a Vike problem) get off easy because they behave in a civilized fashion and their demeanor is professional. Guys like Eminem who has a "Watson 387" tat, gets treated like a criminal.
If you want better treatment, don't FIT THE BILL. I mean, if I wanted to author a polemic on steroid use, I could pull any of dozens of new threads on this board and spin them like the sky was falling on us. Everybody here talks like "I know what I'm doing, it's my body" and all of that, but the cokeheads all say the same things, people who are so blasted they cannot stand up right and nobody can even tell them that they shouldn't drive a car.
My advice, if you don't want to be a pariah, stop behaving like pariahs.
Fox had an AGENDA, just like every other news organization. And, you know what? It fell on deaf ears. They had several hundred million E pills consumed in NYC in a span of a few years and only one or two deaths where E was the only drug in the dead person's system - this doesn't even attribute the cause of death to E. And, the users know. WE know. Sooner or later, all those dumbshit baby boomer chicken littles are gonna die off and we'll be what's left.
So, PUSH for decriminalization. MDMA, oxycodone, cocaine, pot, methandrostenolone, oxandrolone, ALL of it, should be nearly freely available and the resources we currently waste on enforcing idiotic laws should be devoted to the people who spend 10 years on juice with no bloodwork or the people who get hooked on Percs. Lower the cost of addiction so people can stay employed while they're treated. Destigmatize, decriminalize, do the right thing. And, in the meantime, if we behave like civilized people instead of spouting idiotic, reactionary, and often vulgar and passingly intelligible commentary, perhaps we might get a little bit more respect as a more "enlightened" set of illegal drug users. OK?
