Approved Log Post Cycle Cruise and Recovery Log - TRT, Retatrutide, HGH/Peptides

3r1x

V.I.P.
EF Logger
Hey All,

First time putting together a formal log, so I'm open to any suggestions or feedback to sharpen this up as we go.

My objective and approach are a bit different from the standard pure bodybuilding or powerlifting thread. At 41, the goal is balancing lifting and grappling all while having enough energy for everyday life and a career.

Finding that balance where performance, joint durability and body composition all line up without burning out is the real game. I’m stepping out of a solid recomp block directly into a 12 week cruise and recovery cycle before launching into the next blast. Sitting at 82 kg (~12–13% body fat, down from a ~20% baseline).

I’m anchoring the base with 150mg TRT and Retatrutide (1mg titrating up to 4mg) alongside 4 IU daily HGH (2 IU AM/2 IU PM). I’m running this across three clean phases moving from the foundation phase into targeted tissue repair with BPC-157/KLOW and closing out with a mitochondrial primer (SS-31 into MOTS-c). The aim is to see how the different phases affect my recovery, training performance, body composition and overall fatigue under a relatively high activity volume.

  • Age: 41
  • Height: 168 cm
  • Weight: 82 kg
  • Current Body Fat: ~12% – 14% (Down from ~20% historical baseline)
  • Target Body Fat: 9% – 10% (Establishing a lean baseline prior to next phase)
  • Timeline: 12 Weeks
  • Primary Objective: Athletic performance and joint resilience for grappling, paired with visual aesthetics and sustainable family/life energy.
  • Nutritional Macros (Deficit Target):
    • Calories: ~2,200 – 2,300 kcal/day
    • Protein: 185g
    • Carbohydrates: ~200g – 215g
    • Fats: ~55g – 60g
    • Hydration Protocol: Himalayan salt + potassium electrolyte blend
  • Active Structural Issues (Accumulated wear and tear primarily from hard grappling and lifting.)
    • Bilateral Elbows: Tendonitis (both arms)
    • Left Shoulder: Slight impingement
    • Right Wrist: De Quervain's tenosynovitis
    • Lower Back: General tightness
  • Ancillary & Daily Health Supplements
    • Methylene Blue
    • Creatine Monohydrate
    • NAC
    • Kyolic Aged Garlic
    • Fish Oil
    • Berberine
    • Collagen Peptides + Vitamin C
    • Vitamin D3 / K2
    • Magnesium Glycinate
    • PQQ / CoQ10

Protocol - 12 Week Timeline:

PhaseCore Compounds & Specific DosingPrimary Focus & Execution
Phase 1: Foundation

(Weeks 1–2)
TRT: 150 mg/week

Retatrutide: 1 mg/week (titrating up to 4 mg/week max)

HGH: 2 IU AM / 2 IU PM (4 IU total/day)
Establish foundation for fat loss and recovery.

Base Stack (TRT + Reta + HGH 2 IU AM/PM)

+ AM: BPC-157 (500 mcg)

+ PM: KLOW (4 mg)
Introduce BPC and KLOW to accelerate connective tissue remodeling, manage joint inflammation and support recovery.
Phase 3: Mitochondrial Priming

(Weeks 9–12 Overlap)
Base Stack (TRT + Reta + HGH 2 IU AM/PM)

+ Transition: SS-31 (W9–10) \ MOTS-c (W11–12, 2x/wk)
Shift focus to cellular repair and mitochondrial capacity to prime the system leading into next cycle.

Training:
  • Daily Movement Target: 10,000 – 12,000 steps (depending on lifting and mat volume)
  • Strength & Conditioning (4 Days per week): Maintained and progressing primary compound lifts on reduced total volume to manage fatigue.
  • Grappling (4-6 Days per week): Intensity ranges from light technical flow or specific rounds to hard live rounds. No-Gi dominant, with some Gi, Wrestling rounds and Judo.

Log Tracking Focus:
  1. Body Composition & Steps: Weekly weight averages, visual conditioning and tracking 10,000–12,000 step compliance relative to training volume
  2. Lift Progression: Strength retention, load management and bar speed on core compound lifts across the 4 day split.
  3. Targeted Injury & Joint Response: Tracking specific recovery markers across the bilateral elbow tendonitis, left shoulder impingement, right wrist (De Quervain's), and lower back tightness especially during Phase 2 (BPC/KLOW).
  4. Autonomic Recovery & Life Balance: Sleep quality, HRV/RHR trends, overall feel, and managing energy across work, training, and family life.
My intention is to document my process and individual response over the 12 weeks. I'll keep weekly updates relatively concise and focus on measurable changes, training performance, recovery, joint response and anything unexpected along the way.

add photos of you with your face blurred out bro need it to approve log

Definitely will do, I'll take them tomorrow morning to avoid hydration and food fluctuations. That way Sunday mornings will be the progress shots.

Cheers for the feedback.
tag me when u got pics bro

Evening all,

Thanks for the early comments. BF% was visual estimate based on AI so might be off, but it's a consistent basis that I can use without having to continually fork out for the DEXA scans.

The images were as of today and Phase 1 begins tomorrow.

Will continue to track and update next Sunday.

May your lifts be heavy and your coffee strong!

Stacked and sliced legend

Quick check in. Gear landed and got Phase 1 officially up and running.

Touchdown: Package from @True-Blue-Peptides
  • (HGH & Retatrutide) arrived clean and reconstituted with zero issues.
Retatrutide - 1mg initial pin
  • Super smooth start. No weird sides or heavy appetite suppression just yet, so hitting that 185g protein floor is a breeze right now. Moving to 2mg on the next pin to start building up some real metabolic momentum.
HGH (2IU PM SUBQ/ 2IU AM IM)
  • PM Subq: Even with a shorter 6hr sleep block (usually get 7) due to other factors, recovery metrics were surprisingly solid. RHR dropped noticeably and deep sleep waves bumped up to 7 cycles (usually sit around 4).
  • AM IM Fasted Cardio: Got that familiar mild finger tingling during morning cardio. Not a lab test, but a consistent sign I’ve always noticed on good GH.
Keeping these updates short and casual as things pop up. Still early days but heading in the right direction. I’ll drop the full detailed breakdown covering sessions and joint status on Sundays.

WEEK 1 CONSOLIDATED LOG UPDATE | Phase 1 Base Cut, Metrics & Protocol Expansion

Cycle & Outcome Goals

Execute a post-cycle cruise, recovery and cut at age 41 to hit 9–10% body fat while retaining explosive power, joint integrity and mat capacity across 5+ grappling sessions per week.

LOG OVERVIEW & CURRENT BASELINE

  • Age / Height: 41 | 168 cm
  • Current Scale Weight: 79.20 kg (Morning Fasted) (A rapid early drop down from 82.0 kg I'm guessing an initial release of water weight, fluid and systemic inflammation).
  • Current Core Compounds:
    • TRT: 150 mg/week - Test Enanthate x2 per week (UGLOZ - not sponsored)
    • Retatrutide: Stepped up to 2 mg/week today (1 mg baseline phase completed last week) titrating up as I have experienced Reta and tolerance known. - @True-Blue-Peptides
    • HGH: 4 IU/day split (2 IU AM IM / 2 IU PM SubQ) - @True-Blue-Peptides
PART 1: WHAT HAS HAPPENED (WEEK 1 RESULTS)

1. Strength, Conditioning & Mat Volume

  • Daily Step Average: 6,889 steps/day (Peak on Saturday at 12,920 steps).
  • Executed 4 S&C sessions alongside 5 grappling sessions (technical positional drills + live competitive rounds). Mat stamina felt crisp.
  • Top Performance Highlights:
    • Barbell Bench Press: 102.5kg x 5 (Top set) / 92.5kg x 10 (Back-off)
    • Trap Bar Deadlift: 145kg x 5 (Top set) / 132.5kg x 5 (Back-off)
    • Trap Bar Pendlay Rows: 102.5kg x 5 — Neutral handles to protect my wrists.
    • Standing Overhead Press: 60kg x 4 x 8 — Zero shoulder pinching.
2. Nutrition & Weekly Intake Summary

Macros & Energy:
Locked in 2,200–2,370 kcal | 180g+ Protein Floor | <250g Carbs | <70g Fat. Carbs are timed around training to keep mat stamina high. Protein shakes were a staple to hit targets.

Meal Timing: Maintained strict evening stomach clearance before PM SubQ HGH pin.

3. Health Markers & Wearable Recovery Data

Using Amazfit Helio Strap to help capture the metrics and a generic blood pressure monitor.
  • Blood Pressure: 111 / 62 mmHg
  • Resting Heart Rate (RHR): Dropped 10 BPM across the week (78 BPM Monday > 68 BPM Sunday).
  • Heart Rate Variability (HRV): Climbed steadily from 27 ms up to 38 ms (Baseline: 23 ms).
  • Sleep Heart Rate Avg: Dropped from 78 BPM early week down to 70 BPM.
  • Fatigue & Status: Fatigue dropped from 31 down to 17
4. Joint & Structural Prehab Status
  • Bilateral Elbow Tendonitis: 7/10 Straps & neutral grips bypasses pain but it is definitely still present.
  • Right Wrist (De Quervain's): 8/10 This is particularly bad only upon waking, but not as noticeable during the day.
  • Left Shoulder Impingement: 4/10 minor now and appears to be improving.
  • Lower Back: 5/10 Tightness still present, largely there due to grappling activity.
5. Early Peptide Impressions
  • Retatrutide (1 mg): Zero side effects, GI drag, or appetite crashes. Hitting the 185g protein target was effortless.
  • HGH (4 IU Split): AM IM pin produced mild finger tingling. PM SubQ pin deepened sleep waves, even on a shortened 6-hour sleep block.

Week 2: WHAT IS PLANNED NEXT

1. S&C Program Expansion (Transitioning to 5-Day ULPPL)

Given excellent energy levels and high recovery markers despite some of the challenges, training will be expanded from 4 days to a 5 Day Upper/Lower/Push/Pull/Legs (ULPPL) split to maximize muscle retention while managing axial load alongside 5 mat sessions:

Should also mention this is all done at my Home Gym setup, it is sufficient but not comprehensive. Gyms around me are great but I can't be bothered dealing with people.
  • Day 1: Upper (Horizontal Focus) — Bench Press, Trap Bar Rows, Incline DB Press, Face Pulls.
  • Day 2: Lower (Quad Focus) — Power Cleans, Box/Zercher Split Squats, Belt Squats, Cable AB Curls.
  • Day 3: Push (Chest, Delts, Triceps) — Overhead Press, Close-Grip Bench, DB Lateral Raises, Core.
  • Day 4: Pull (Back, Yoke, Neck Armor) — Low Cable Rows, Neutral Pull-Ups, Trap Bar Shrugs, Cervical Neck Work.
  • Day 5: Legs (Posterior Hinge & Core) — Trap Bar Deadlifts, Single-Leg RDLs, Belt Squats, Landmine Rotations.
2. Lifestyle, Movement & Support Adjustments
  • Step Volume & Sleep: Re-establishing daily step consistency (aiming for 10k daily average) and tightening up sleep duration to match positive HRV trends.
  • Retatrutide: Stepped up to 2 mg/week starting today to build metabolic momentum.
  • Berberine Phasing: Dropping Berberine out as Retatrutide scales, since triple-receptor agonism independently manages glycemic control.
3. Condensed Mito + Healing Protocol
Rationale: Based on other experiences I will be running mitochondrial primers right alongside recovery peptides to ensure cellular energy output is maxed out while repair factors rebuild soft tissue.

  • TRT Base 150mg per week
  • SS-31 (Aug 28 – Sep 26): 10 mg/10 day loading >5 mg/ 20 day maintenance.
  • KLOW + BPC-157 + HGH (Sep 4 – Nov 13): Launches as soon as healing peptides land.
    • AM: 2 IU HGH + KLOW (4 mg) for systemic repair and anabolic signaling.
    • PM: 2 IU HGH + BPC-157 (500 mcg) at bedtime for overnight joint recovery and GH synergism.
  • MOTS-c (Oct 12 – Nov 15): 6-week run to expand fresh mitochondrial density, keeping mat stamina high heading into the November blast.

Big thanks to sponsor @True-Blue-Peptides as early progress has exceeded my expectations with the products and hoping for that recovery and mito phase performs as well as the HGH and Reta have.

I'll have to post my standard progress pics later as my photographer (missus) was unavailable and I couldn't wait to eat.....

For the moment this was me post grappling.Post Grappling_scrubbed.webp

I'll look to continue with this format, but if there is anything anyone is interested in me including for future posts let me know. I'm open to looking at ways to improve the log.

Cheers

For the moment this was me post grappling.View attachment 183229

I'll look to continue with this format, but if there is anything anyone is interested in me including for future posts let me know. I'm open to looking at ways to improve the log.

Cheers
Lookin’ ripped bro!
