Indeed I was, but I'm definately a powerlifter now. No turning back.
Gridiron appealed to me because I saw it as a way to give focus to my training and use my strength/speed. But I've actually gone and got stuck into this.

Like people have said, mentally you might have to change things up just to stay sane and motivated, but that has little to do with progress in a PURELY...
For the moment I'm happy to lift in my Asics. They're perfect for my feet and body. Unfortunately they do compress, but I need arch support.
In a perfect world, I'll fit my orthotics into some chucks (if that's possible) or appropriate lifting shoes...
