    I've had what you're describing, the doctor said it was a simple muscle strain. I seem to get it if I go OTT with shrugs. Not a lot you can do really, just don't go mad with the weights or you'll aggrevate it further. Nothing to worry about IMO :)

    For post workouts carbs get a box of glucose powder from Superdrug or Boots. It's costs about £1 and should last quite a few workouts. Have about 50g mixed in water after each workout.

    I started doing military presses as part of my 5 x 5 and my shoulders have grown substantially, a great shoulder builder and quite rewarding. There's nothing like liftng a lot of weight above your head to make you feel good :)
