I read in the bench sticky that PL Jay and Arioch weren't big fans of negatives because of the recovery time. What about lighter negatives (ie adding 5-10 lbs more than your max and doing 1-3 negatives on it)? Would it help progression or is it more or less pointless?
Thanks
I had a few questions that I was hoping someone could answer ..
First, and I'm sure this has been answered a million times but I couldn't find it; where can I order what you guys use for active recovery (on the sticky)?
Next was a question about breathing ... When I lift, I usually inhale on...
I decided to not do Cross Country b/c I feel it's gonna mess up my lifts too much.
I'm training for high school LaCrosse. Ideally (and it will be tough) I will get all-state or atleast be able to play in college. It's just North Carolina and it's not THAT big down here, but to get All State...
Well, it's not quite as much as it previously seemed like. I had tabbed some stuff over to go under categories and it didn't tab over. Ex:
Bench Move - 3 x 3-5 (Switch exercise whenever CNS is doing poorly – should be roughly once every 3 weeks)
*Decline Bench
*Wide-Grip Bench
*"Half-Bench"...
This routine would be for me...I've been lifting a little over a year (and running for around 3), I'm 17 and would say that I have above average genetics (meaning good recovery ability). The goal is to be stronger (not only in the big 3), faster, more powerful and keep my endurance.
Here's...
I started using my lats and arching 2 or 3 weeks ago and I had the same results -- a huge increase in my bench and soreness the next day. No soreness since then (which is usual for me).
Congrats..
I have a bunch of questions about muscle fibers and will probably have more if someone helps me out with this first batch. If one of you has time to answer these or point me to a reliable resource then I'd really appreciate it...
As far as I know (and correct me if I'm wrong, please), there...
Using a decline bench or "sit-up machine", I usually put 50-100 lbs on my chest, cross my arms over the weight, and do around 25 sit-ups.
I'd be interested in learning how to work the lower abs and obliques...
Re: Re: HST program for me ..
Yeah, I knew these two would be a bit contradictory...I really don't want to run this season, but I'm #5 on the team and I've run the past 3 years and I feel like I pretty much have to. I know I've got the rest of my life to bulk up and all, but I would prefer...
Hey, I'm trying to determine the best routine that I could be doing starting around June 22nd and lasting until October 1st or so...
I usually train for strength & power (and will be going westside after this time period), but getting some size gains would be nice, as I would like to put on as...
