I'm a bit confused
Are we talking about a speed day for bench or active recovery?
If anyone could give me some feedback from my last post (speed bench related questions) I'd really appreciate it.

I don't have any bands either. Instead, I do 8x3 with 55% of my 1RM for speed bench. Think I start to lose too much speed after 3 or 4 reps so I increase the sets.
Spatts/anyone: is this a good idea or should I be aiming for higher reps with less sets on a speed day? And how much rest between...
Squat with your feet out wide as well! Straight legged deadlifts are excellent for your glutes/hams but make sure you use good form or you can kiss your lower back goodbye!

Aussie Juga naught: a good example of what you can use chains for is assistance work for your bench press. What you do is hang some chain off either side of the bar. When the bar is on your chest, a lot of the chain is just going to be sitting on the floor. Now when you press, you lift the chain...

WPH: What are your routines? If I do take up Rugby League again next year I'm thinking I'm definitely going to want to squeeze deadlifts, squats, and bench in there somewhere!

Yeah spatts, would agree with you on that - when doing deadlifts I find it difficult to hold onto a big gulp of air when I go down to the bar.
I'm also finding that I can lift more weight now when i *do* wear my belt. p03t1c: I only put it on now when going for a PR or something - with good...
Hey, interesting thread - here's my input.
I've played rubgy from an early age and played both codes. I have played prop, second row, and no. 8 in my life and decided that when I got to Uni, I wouldn't join a squad in my first year so I could enjoy my freshman year and also try and get myself...

At what level in Britain do you think most people start getting into AS, GH, etc. ? Pro/Club/Uni/College/School(!) ?
I'm at Loughborough Uni - pretty good reputation for sports (I'm sure you'll agree :)) and although I never have seen/heard of anyone on, I would...
Hey guys, just started leaving my belt off whilst training - apart from when going close to maximal lifts! Did deadlifts last night with sets of 3/4 reps - man, I never knew how much your abs are used for stabilisation - they're burning today! :insane:
Definitely will be doing this from now on...
Good job with the lift - look forward to seeing a picture of what 600lbs looks like! I hope to be up to 600lbs one day - setting my sights on 500lb DL before Christmas (430lbs at the mo. so maybe a little high?).
I too, go to a yuppie gym where it really takes it out of me to unload the bar at...
I need a good belt too. Should I go for a 4'' belt (all the way round, of course!), or a 6'' one?
I was looking at Safe USA's Competition Powerlifting Belt or the Tan Training Powerlifting Belt. Does anyone know if Safe USA have a website?
