    i had the same problem up until i started doing some rotator cuff exercises and stretching prior to benching.also find a range of motion that eliminates the popping regardless if its not "the ideal elbow flare".

    im currently doing my second cycle of Madcow 5x5 and love it,lifts are going up and I used to be in the same boat as you as it pertains to squating.i hardly ever squated prior to 5x5 but now i absolutely enjoy doing them.stci with it,youll begin to enjoy it as well.

    Yeah ive read that its not the routine that helps in cutting but rather the diet.I will stick with 5x5 for another few months then look into more of a hypertrophy routine.

    5x5 accessory question

    pretty good,had to take last week off due to some prior commitments i had and i started back up this week and felt weaker.hopefully it was just due to my fatigue from last week along with not being able to eat properly.

    I just wrapped up week 7 and I actually had to "de-load" on certain exercises cause i was stalling.I have always put emphasis on my shoulders since I started lifting,I don't do a ton of sets for shoulder accessory work,i just do a few to get that extra umph.

    my back used to get sore as well and i found out it was cause of my form when doing squats.I was getting the bar off the rack incorrectly and i wasnt breathing in deeply before going down.i changed those two things and now no pain.
