    They mainly help hitting depth for high-bar, front squats and Olympic lifts - they might actually hurt you in the low-bar squat by screwing with your body mechanics (to much forward lean). I think there is an article on it at wlshoes.com

    Foot arch problems. Weightlifting shoes?

    If you are flat-footed with low arches then it doesn't matter what shoe you wear, you'll still need inserts or orthotics to support your arch. A shoe with a deeper heel cup may help some though. In general, wl shoes are good idea anyway just to keep your feet stable and supported properly.

    So you are looking for a shoe that you can walk around the gym in, and perform lifts like squats, deads and bench? Or are you talking crossfit type workouts?
