Just curious since I see many of you have enough time for training and getting your meals in and all. I'm studying to become an engineer but I'm concerned that once I start working as an engineer I won't have enough time to eat and stuff.
How do guys manage?
I don't do suspended chain GM's. My gym won't allow it. I just take the bar out of the rack set myself up as if to squat (wide stance) but GM-it instead. I deadlift conventional.
I do think that I'm doing round back GM's (though not on purpose) but since, I train without a partner, I really...
Following a meet I stopped Westside and just did GM's 5x5 eod or whenever, very slowly adding weight. Did some rowing and benching as well. So last week I finally decided to go for a max good morning and ended up with an ugly 245 single when two months ago I could triple that. Yesterday I...
I don't have any direct experience w/GVT but yeah it sure sounds like it would most probably be effective only after a layoff of some sort. Then again if calories and protein are high, and intensity is not too high, I'd guess there'd be an increase in muscle mass accompanying the increase in...
Just started bulking. I dieted down from 190 to 180.3 for a meet took 6 weeks 'off' (stopped WSB and just did GM's and benches eod). Now I'm trying to get to a hard-ish 190-193 by August but I've lost my eating discipline. White rice sounds good. I guess I shouldn't worry about GI index and...
So I was reading Muscle & Fitness at a Walgreens the other day (yeah, I know) and they have this column called Power and Strength where they were running an article called Bi-weekly Power Surge. It featured the training of a canadian strongman by the name of Karl Gray. According to the...
I don't know, I'm not sure I can explain this appropiately so I won' even try but I do feel that an aspect of volume is required for optimal gains. I've seen this in my training but since I don't understand it fully I'm not sure how to regulate it. Maybe I'm biased because of all the articles...
Right on Strengthfiend!!
I go raw at meets and always get strange looks from everyone. There are sure gonna be a lot of strange looks when I eventually take the 181's or the 198's raw. That would be so absolutely gratifying!!!
Nice goal to look forward to, along with an 800# DL @198.
485 raw conventional@181
Actually hope to break 600 by year's end@181-198
Root for me!
Obviously deadlift specialist wannabe. I can only squat about 350 I think, but what the hell, as long as my DL keeps going up:D
Casual, that's a good point about reversal of neural adaptations and one of the reasons why Westside training doesn't include an offseason. You might want to pay a visit to elitefts.com and read all of Louie's articles, the answer to your question is probably there somewhere but I'm guessing it...
yeah, anything else like that ever happen to you? Not to go off topic or anything but it really is good stuff!!
OAKLEY, try HST. It's growth oriented. In any case, eat a lot and consistently move heavier weights for reps. Rep scheme? Got me there. Currently discussing it with casual...
Actually, his comp pics are pretty good. He does need however to seriously bring up his hams and calves. Also, his quads could me sharper. It almost looks like he had them pumped up onstage which in that case means that he was simply lacking size. He should go for a bottom heavy look if he...
Hmm... "Making guys feel macho"... That is very interesting. Might those be the kind of guys that, say, put pictures of guns in their avatars to look macho as well?
To all of you training your body parts once a week:
If it is working, great, that's what it's all about. If you want your...
