    Going Public!!!

Pljay, say it aint so! lol. Seriously though, time off from Powerlifting will let you heal up. It's says a lot about you that you have discipline to be able to powerlift and bodybuild. I tried the bodybuilding route, and got down to 240 then said fuck it, and ate my way back to 290s. Keep...

    Competition bench?

Are you looking at flat benches to go inside of a power rack, or an actual competiton bench? Most general exercise flat benches are around 20" tall, which sucks for any type of competition purpose. You may want to check www.elitefts.com with Dave Tate. I am pretty sure he sells a flat...

Anthony Clark, humble KING of the BENCH PRESS

Anthony was definitely a powerhouse. It's a shame that so much controversy surrounds some of his biggest lifts. He's back at it though, just missing 805 a few months ago.

    Competition bench?

Better yet, if you have a particular meet you are going to, call the meet director and ask them about the equipment they will be using.

    Competition bench?

Just about every federation has the same specs. I am not sure what the AAU has listed, but that seems WAY off. 24" wide? A 2 foot wide bench? Not likely Height is pretty much the same anywhere you go. IPA, IPF, APA, etc. 16.5" to 17.75" tall (42-45cm) - (from the ground, to the top of...

WHAT IF the USAPL ever allows denim bench shirts

Well the USAPL is basically taking care of this issue with these new-fangled shirts. Take the Fury NXG+ for exampe. Its designed with a stretchy back.....this mimics the open back of a denim. The INZER Phenom has the same option. Now look at the material. Twice as thick as old day poly's...

    what's your contest grip?

I use middle on the rings. It would be optimal to use index on the rings, because thats the maximum width and you would have the shorter stroke; however, this isn't feasable for everyone. You have to have adequate shoulder and lat strength to use the index on rings. This is why you see a lot...

Anybody do and shoulder presses ??

Shoulder presses would be fine to do, especially for a raw bencher. Just rotate them in as one of your shoulder exercises. I think the Westside program neglects shoulder too much. But some of the guys will do shoulders in extra workouts and such. I just spent 10 months doing very little delt...

    Starting Westside

Weakness off the bottom is usually lats and shoulder somewhat....assuming that you bench with your elbows tucked in and in a low groove. Strong lats and upper back are critical, as they help to stabilize the shoulders. I have a torn rotator cuff and still mangage to bench well. Just dont...

    USAPL and denim

Denim was banned in the USAPL in 2001. Apparently some state meets still allow members to use them, but they are illegal. The meet director could lose there sanction if caught allowing them. Before they were banned, single closed back denims were acceptible for state meets, but not...

    Camcorder Video to Multimedia Question

Dazzle Digital Video Creator 80 is about 60 bucks and Pinacle Systems Linx is about 50 bucks. These are both at Best Buy. Both adapt through a USB port. I use the Dazzle software. I capture using Windows Movie Maker (found with Win Me, XP). You can also capture with the supplied software...

    shirt help

Send it in and have her do it. She does a real nice job making the open back. I had one shirt switched from closed to open back and had a single closed neck made into a double open back. I think for both the charge was 30 bucks.

Anybody have the new Inzer "Phenom" shirt?

    Upperabs/lower chest....similiar to that of a denim.

Anybody have the new Inzer "Phenom" shirt?

The Fury is USAPL legal. The USAPL doesn't allow denim, velcro, open backs or multiple layer shirts.

Anybody have the new Inzer "Phenom" shirt?

I tried the Phenom and simply didn't like it....not to say it isn't a good shirt. I found it to have the same groove as a the EHPHD. However, it was stronger than the EHPHD (took more weight to touch chest) and it cut the back of my arms more....more than any other shirt I have ever used. I...
