As far as I know you need to use the plastic one that comes with the unit, and yes they can crack. If it does crack it will not leak,but you will lose pressure and need to change it. If you are just starting out, why not mix small amounts and use Whatman syringe filters? They are easy to use...

I wish I could help...I couldnt get a hand crimper here in Mexico, they only had tabletops for like $500. I tried to make a Mexicanada, and broke 2 bottles. It is difficult to do without the crimper. Good luck.

That doesnt sound like a difficult mix to hold from a mixing standpoint. But Like Rick says it depends on their source. The only thing that seems odd about the blend is the EQ. Normally people want to run it a bit longer and you are forced here to run it the same length as the others.
