    Exercising abs on a bulk

For your purposes I would say yes work your abs, but don't just arbitrarily throw exercises at them. I would say barbell rollouts, planks, and hanging leg raises are going to be your best bets. You should be able to hold a plank for 2 minutes and side planks for 90 seconds

The Most Radical Training Principe You'll Ever Hear...

well, the question that seems to naturally follow is: what are these best exercises? And what makes some exercise the "best" for any particular body part? If db bench produces better hypertrophy in the chest of an individual, but barball bench produces better strength gains, which one is better?

Is adding exercises to 5x5 stronglifts a good idea?

I've seen where some people like to add weighted pull-ups and/or dips, so you could try that. Isolation movements like what you've listed really don't have a place unless you're using them to assist your bigger lifts or you're operating at <10% bf

    Need Answers/Advice - Aesthetic + Athletic

If you want to perform or look like an athlete, you'll need to train like one. What you have posted here is somewhat of a bodybuilding routine which negates legs and uses too many machines. I understand where you're coming from though; when I first started out every machine looked appealing...

    Low back

Welcome! you're going to want to avoid the word "tone" on this forum. Plenty of people here have will have advice on how to strengthen your lower back, or even how to cut body fat, but not many people are going to respond positively to "tone." What you will want to do is Good mornings, light...

give me some ideas on some intense cardio workouts to include in my routine

Moya, you may be right, but I was just thinking about some crossfit workouts that use 10-20 rep hang cleans or light weight snatches. I know some friends of mine do hang cleans for cardio, 8x8 @ 135.

give me some ideas on some intense cardio workouts to include in my routine

kettlebell swings, turkish get ups, farmers carries, high rep olympic lifts -- all good ideas and will certainly get you sweating

Want to try a different approach

no problem! I'll be anxious to hear if this helps at all. As I was thinking about it today, I realized that lunges would be a pretty functional exercise as well--just a thought.

Want to try a different approach

I think I know what you're asking. You're going to want to stick with lifts that are as functional as possible and definitely higher reps like you mentioned. I think what you're looking for is actually closer to strongman training, but unless you're lucky enough, I doubt you have access to...

I'm new here - Please review my weight training routine

wow. All right, well first, this is just ineffective much less overtraining. At your weight and experience and with your goals, there is honestly no reason at all for you to have any days where you work out twice. Also, looking at your core lift numbers, there is really no reason for you to do...

    Critique my training routine

6 days in a row is way too much. At the volume you have listed here, I would say that yes, you'll feel like you're getting something accomplished, but it's very unlikely that you'll see any kind of significant gains. The strength day seems entirely out of place in this routine, too. I know the...

    Lifting for Pwer?

Moya, yes, I play basketball, and this workout is one way I'm trying to improve. Basketball also happens to be a big reason why I have so much trouble gaining weight. 2-3 hours even just one day a week, while enjoyable, are definitely catabolic. I'm glad you like it though! I've spent a lot of...

    Lifting for Pwer?

So the long and short of it is I'm hoping to jump higher through a lifting program. I realize a lot of initial responses will be that I just need to invest some time into plyo, and I guess if I really wanted to, I could just do that, but I really enjoy lifting, so I would really rather shoot to...

From a mere mortal man to a Monster Log!!!!

how have you liked the snatch grip compared to a traditional shoulder width grip on your deadlift? I remember trying a few sets like that once and my upper back just being super sore. EDIT: that is, a good sore. rebuilding muscle fibers and all that

Does this Work out routine make sense?

A whole day devoted to biceps? It would help if you listed your goals here as well as any relevant information (height, weight, bf, experience). If you're looking for a split though, I know there's a good push/pull/legs split on this forum somewhere, and would probably be a lot more efficient...
