I've been squatting for about 5 months now and I've probably only gone up about 50lbs or so. My legs suck. :(
They are definatley bigger and more rock solid.. just not big weight movers. I do FULL squats too.. to the point of fatigue and all that fun stuff that goes along with them too. Oh well
SofaGeorge, throughout this entire post I've recieved all sorts of advice regarding what I should do with my routine but I do think that the lower reps higher weight did work well for me. I'll try that again, I just need to remember to increase intensity as well. Thanks for the advice...
Just a quick reply for Martimus Maximus and those who have helped me.
Yesterday was chest/tri's for me... and This is how my routine first warmup went:
Flat bench:
95lbs x 8 (warpup)
115lbs x 8 (warmup)
135 x 8 (warmup)
155x 8
175 x 7
185 x 4
205 x 1 (i could have done more but this was a new...
Thanks again Ryan. I'm learning the behind the scenes part to body building now, like diet, nutrition and such. It's a slow process but I'm being very observant, and making posts like these. :)
Martimus Maximus, Just for you I made sure how my chest/tri routine went today:
Pre workout: 5gm of...
gmanlax7, I'm definately not leaving the legs out. My squats have been going up each week. I too was VERY discouraged when I started leg exercises. I'm now squatting 145lbs for 8 reps and that's a big improvement from where I was 2 months ago. I do FULL squats to, no fake crap. I try to keep my...
gymtime, i'll definately try adding the weight and dropping the reps. Sounds like a good idea.
Martimus Maximus, Thanks a TON for that in depth reply! Very humorous too.
What I'll do is take half a scoop of creatine before workout for a little sugar kick and then the full scoop post workout...
Still looking for an answer on my prev question.
Another question I have is.. How can I get a bigger chest? I'd like more definition in the upper and middle part of it, to look fuller.
My chest routine is:
Flat bench:
8 reps 95lbs
8 reps 115lbs
8 reps 135lbs
8 reps 145lbs
8 reps 145lbs
Tricep...
Thanks guys.
I'll switch all my breads to wheat.
I also think I'll stick with the 2 muscle groups a day routine 3 days on 1 day off.. It just seems to be working well for me now. Perhaps not ideal but I can't justify changing it.
Another question I have is, how do I prevent myself from...
gonelifting, I'll lower the reps per your recomendation. I really LOVE my routine now. I love going to the gym and can't wait to go again. I hate taking days off but they are a must. Right now I work out 5 days a week, I would hate to drop that down. I'm always looking forward to going to the...
Ok, 5gm creatine before and 5gm immediately after workout.
I can definately do tuna sandwhiches post workout. Very easy to make and not too expensive. :) 1 can and 2 or 4 slices of white bread. Thanks gmanlax7, that's exactly what I wanted to know... what food's to eat. :)
Now, for reps...
Ok.. i really feel an energy boost from the creatine before workout but thats probably the sugars in the Phosphagen HP.. so i'll take another 5gm post workout too.. Is it ok if I mix my shake before the workout and it sits for a little over an hour before I drink it? I heard creatine can only...
LOL, the gloves were because I was working on a friends car..
Both my morning and after workout shakes are with milk. :)
ALSO, I wash just bout every meal that I'm not having a shake with down with a glass of milk including the PB&J sandwhiches. :) I could probably use more protein though...
I'll try to mix pasta into the diet more. Mostly for lunch.
I'm taking 5gm creatine pre-workout now and I definately notice a difference during the workout, but that's probably from the sugars. A friend of mine says the creatine i consume is worthless and should be taken POST workout. I take a...
