A resting HR of 100 does seem high. When I do cardio mine gets up to about 170. No idea about weight training as I have never measured my pulse while lifting.

Now that is a good idea! I may try my own version. It will not be as stylish as that - just make a pot of coffee (cafeteire) and then mix with my chocolate protein powder. Mmmm. That could be good.
I think it is just a matter of trying to do a little more each time, and ensuring that you get good rest. Why not follow a set plan, something like a 10km or even half marathon training plan that will set out your daily workouts and nutrition to hopefully get the best results possible?
