Hehe, thanks for all the helps guys, even though I have NO idea what you two are talking about! (My innocent ears didn't hear anything =P)

    Need advice on barbell grip

Alright, thanks guys! So just to be clear: bare hands for bench press = no calluses? What about deadlifts? Cause that kills my hands even with gloves. =(

    Need advice on barbell grip

Oh, this gym has a box with free chalk in it, by the way. Maybe that's the best route...

    Need advice on barbell grip

Eh? So to get the best grip I have to get rid of my gloves? Can you still prevent your hands from getting callouses without gloves? (I'm not a very manly man, just so you know. I am notorious for having girly hands/fingernails. It's because I'm yellow I guess)

    Need advice on barbell grip

really? Cause I use gloves to keep my hands baby-soft lol. I guess I'm a wimp! The thing is, I've never had this problem lifting at my gym @ UF and I was lifting even 235 without a second doubt about my wrists at all! Do I need to strengthen my wrists or anything? It's so odd...

    Why do my arms suck

Yeah I feel ya man! But what I've been doing is the core 5x5 thingie, where you do bench/squats/deads hard, and treat the biceps and triceps as "accessories". It may not show up when you wear a t-shirt, but getting back muscles and good legs are awesome too! Plus, why would any guy want a girl...

    Need advice on barbell grip

Hey guys! I was doing my last set of 5x5 bench press at a gym I haven't lifted at in a long time, and for some reason, there was something wrong with my grip. My wrists weirdly flicked backwards and I nearly dropped 215 lbs on my neck (it hit my chest instead!). I think my wrists bent backwards...

    Question about fasting

I have no idea what you guys are talking about... >.< I would just like to know how bad it would be on my muscles when I fast. Would a juice fast help that much?

    Question about fasting

    Question about fasting

I am a pretty thin but muscular guy, but I want to fast for both religious reasons and to detoxify my body. I understand that the body will break down proteins for energy when you fast, but also fat. I only have about 8 or 9% body fat, so I was wondering how much the fast will set me back as far...

1 important question (and 2 minor ones)

I talked with a fitness instructor today and a powerlifter, and they both said that it is probably a rotary cup strain, and that a doctor wouldn't be able to do much (unless it was really serious, then it would be surgery). Do you guys know of any good rotary cuff exercises? I know the windmill...

1 important question (and 2 minor ones)

    1) Whenever I bench or do weighted dips, my left shoulder hurts. It isn't a muscley type of pain, it is a boney type of pain (maybe joint?). The thing is, it doesn't hurt on the bench until the weight is all the way up, then I feel that sharp pain. I hope it isn't something that's too bad, any...

Am I doing the 5x5 wrong?

I know, but I don't have a car, and the nice gym (Southwest rec center) is a 40+ min ride on the bus (which is unreliable). The gym I usually use is a 2 minute walk... i guess i'm just lazy =P. Not to make excuses or anything, but also I'm donig engineering so I'm taking tough courses...

Am I doing the 5x5 wrong?

Ok here's what I mean by a "straight bar". They are shorter in length than a barbell and have an assigned weight to them. It looks like this: http://www.fitness-equipment-superstore.com/Images/250x400/Hampton_Fitness_Pro_Style_Gray_Fixed_Straight_Bar_20_-_135_lbs_Barbell_II.jpg
