My opinions:
1. Stick to the routine as closely as possible. Why wouldn't you?
2. Shorter rest on assistance should be fine.
3. Why do sumo DLs instead of conventional? I'm not knocking the thought of it - just trying to understand. There's not much better than a conventional DL IMO...

Good for you man. Seriously. It's a lesson we all have to learn. Keeping pride in check and slowing down, taking it easy, saves a LOT of time in the long run.
