    Alternative to heavy squats?

    If you can do deadlifts ok, try doing BB hack squats. Good on the quads, and you won't use as much weight as squats, give em a try?

    Learn how to fight on the ground, like others have said, I think BJJ is tops for ground fighting, then learn a stand up style that is meant to take them to the ground. Some kind of kickboxing/judo or even a wrestling "shooting" their legs style.

    Don't count on building muscle while you are cutting, it's not really a common thing, so expect a loss or no change in LBM.

    All I do is this one stretch we do for ROTC, simultaneous ankle, knee, and hip rotation, with your feet together, if you can imagine what that would look like. I never said I was a GOOD dancer... I do it to be funny.
