Crash Test: 1959 vs. 2009 Chevy

yeh, those "X-frame" chevys were known to fold up like an wet cardboard box in head on accidents. chevy used this weak frame until 1965.

You are correct...the '65 models introduced the full perimeter frame. I never was a fan of those "X" frame cars from '58 ~ '64...although my Dad had a '63 Impala SS w/327~300 horse 4-speed car that brings back good memories. He traded it in the spring of '65 on a very rare Impala SS w/350 horse 396 4 speed car. I took my drivers license test in 1968 on my 16th birthday in that car. I remember the DMV examiner putting the "Stink Eye" on me the whole time I was doing the road test portion. I got a ticket the next week drag racing a '66 GTO 389 w/trips and a 4 speed. Those were the days.:D
 
What this country needs is a Crash test competition between American cars and the JAPS!!! Since we can't beat them in reliability, performance, price, innovation, sales, marketing, safety, design or resale value, let's see if we can beat them JAPS in full frontal crash test. It'll be good for the nation to revive some American nationalism. Forget about the fact that the JAPS have been allied with us for over 50 years, let's have some fun at their expense. THE JAPS!
