Major happenings this week. Where is the economy headed?

I read today that the slower economy is bringing down Oil prices, which will in turn strengthen the Dollar.

What do you guys think?

What is going on could be characterized as a "great unwinding" of speculation, risky lending, and over-reliance on derivatives (aig, hedge funds, bear stearns, etc). When it is over, the economy should be healthier. But that might not be for a while. And things *may* get worse. Ever seen our deficit?

So is it time to call my broker and tell him to circle the wagons? I've been staying the course, bleeding funds for a year. I was about to call when I got a good August report. I don't think September's is gonna be so pretty.

It's a cycle that has been seen over and over again. Superpowers go up and then go down.

Where America is heading, definitely going down.

4-5 years would be an approximate guess as to when the economy starts seeing a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

Anyone watching Forex knows the dollar has been going in a downward trend for quite some time. Big investors are really getting major, major rewards if they stayed in the game. If they continue to stay well, I think they quite possibly buy the US by the time we ever rebound. That is, if we do rebound.

Look at the over all chart below the big chart, that's the one you want to look at. Hell you can have a temp spike at any time, the market is 24/7. Even the stocks trade by the tick.

Look from 2001 to 2008.... those investors in there made flow man.

But that doesn't help anyone who has been standing pat on old funds and blue chips.
