It's an interesting view of the situation. I'm not sure that I agree with all of it, but it is interesting.

Dude sounds like the character Phil Hartman played on "News Radio".
Anybody can post on You Tube. I have 4 vid's and I'm not running for anything. Can't see the relevance of the amount of You Tube vid's and the lack of mainstream media attention for Ron Paul. Just means there's more Ron Paul fanatics posting up You Tube vid's, despite his lack of appeal with mainstream America.
No conspiracy here. The mainstream media is in the business of selling news. If people were interested in buying Ron Paul stories - believe me, there's be plenty of Ron Paul stories in the newspapers. People were more intrested in buying Obama news - and that's what they got. People are getting tired of Obama stories, so now the media will try to sell them something else.
It's all about supply and demand...

I see that you missed the point slightly.

The idea was that Google Trends would be a better way to track people's opinions then mass media opinion polls because of the size of the polling size and that it wasn't slanted one way or the other. I wasn't speaking about the YouTube videos. I've got some vids of myself as well; but I don't think a video of me masturbating would win me an election in a foreign country; but who knows?

If the Google Trends is true, then people would be interested in Ron Paul stories because the interest is higher then Obama's or the others.

That said, I'm not calling it a conspiracy because I think that we already know that we're being directed one way or the other.

LOL - I started to lose interest at about 3 minutes in. I failed to get the full jest of it.
I tuned out when Google was mentioned. Not sure what direction he went with it, but Google shows the most relevant results (excluding paid advertisers) based on the number of searches made for a particular search topic. Me `Googling Ron Paul 10 times would equal the results of 10 different people Googling Ron Paul once each. That's but one way to skew the search results Google yields. Programs have been written just for the purpose of pumping up Google search results.

I'll admit that the first half of his speech is boring and filled with hyperbole.

However, the second part is the one that I found interesting. He showed a potential correlation between the mass media and the public opinion (via Google Trends).

On the surface, this seems simplistic.

More media push, more interest right?

If that's true, then it would mean that Ron Paul was the front runner candidate without any media intervention on either side and that he's still the republican leader with media intervention. It also shows that there is been very little media push for Mr. Paul.

Thus, if it's all true, then it shows that the mass media is pushing away from Ron Paul and wants people to pick any other candidate.
