So what do you think about the possible independence of Texas?
Must Texas remain in the Union if more than the 50% of its population would like to go?

Texas v. White the supreme court ruled unilteral secession unconstitutional, however it could be granted with the states permission. For all intents and purposes seceding is impractical because the federal goobermint and the other states are too intertwined for secession to work favorably for all involved.

Feds would never invade a seceeding state in that manner. Too much potential to turn into a full blown civil war for the whole nation.
