so..I accepted a position with the stealership because I had basically a 2 month hiatus and was unemployed

so I turn down two other jobs I had lined up...one was meh pay but cherry hrs and the other was ass busting labor but good pay..and ok hrs, no weekends

so anyway, I tell these other two jobs its a no go and now Im stuck waiting for HR at the stealership to get in touch with me because they took me off as an employee and theyre supposed to be finding out if insurance requires me to take a drug test again..which I dont care if they do

its been two days, I called in today but Im all Im gettin is VM
Im feeling jerked around ...fml

now Im second guessing even going back to the stealership and thinkin I should call the meh money one but its literally like half the pay and I already declined the offer yesterday tho they seemed really disappointed so I think I could probably slide into that

while Im spilling out the contents of my head ...Im thinking of only working at the dealership until january and leave on good terms so I can fall back to it...or try to secure a pt position in it and jump back into school and the stealership pays well enough for me to pay off all the debt thats making me insane by early next yr AND will probably put me in a pt spot no questions asked if I ask for it...they don't like to lose people

it's not a mcdonalds or a farm job where they take walk in work..

anytime hr is involved, it's usually worth the effort.. stop stressing, they are not jerking you around, these things take time..

and stop calling hr.. max 2x in one week..

you are not starving and you are not out in the cold eating out of a garbage can, relax.. take a breath and take the time to get your house clean.. better, or paint the bathroom..

always negotiate for a job as though you have something they need/want.. now let the paperwork get done..

yeah, I wouldn't be wound up at all if I hadn't already worked for the auto group..its just in one of the other dealerships...

and I only called HR once and the manager of the particular dealership once...mainly just to let them know I'm taking it seriously
I'd honestly prefer to not start until Monday but I know the GM was so stoked to have me come work for him that he wanted me in asap like no later than tomorrow asap
and let me negotiate three hr and a half lunches a week to shoot down to my gym(down the road) ...and fridays off if he can swing it....and leaving a half hr early on days I don't have evening appointments

I guess its not on me if HR is dropping the ball tho
I wouldn't sweat this at all if it wasn't all so weird how this went down

nah, its a weird circumstance

I injured a nerve in my neck that turned into ridiculous amounts of pt and medication...I couldn't drive especially not on their plates
I offered to voluntarily resign...they freaked and wanted me to handle internet inquiries from home
I did for a little while but then they asked if I could do it as a sub contractor...I said no...they sent me a pink slip

I stopped in to visit my lil gay buddy at the dlrship down the road cuz he just bought a new car for his bf..he was with a customer so I was hangin with the manager in his office (glass office can watch the floor) and he mentioned a pt receptionist job

the used car manager of the entire auto group and second in command came in and asked me how I was (and has a fabulous tell when hes thinking up something) like if I was "all better". I am.

well I wound up leaving and goin to the gym then swinging back to ask about the receptionist job (it actually pays very well for what it is) and the manager just said "but I just talked to john about hiring you for sales! and handling internet again!!" Im like..ok...well yeah I could do that
just had to clear it with the vp

cleared with the vp the next day...had to go back in and discuss pay and bennies with him and used car manager of that store
but then HR said they had to look in to the ins/drug test aspect of it and someone would call me

thats where it got left on tues afternoon
