I have been around the world, and have seen TRUE poverty. Along with that info, I have lived in EVERY CORNER OF THE U.S.A. and in every where in between. A.C. , CABLE, AND XBOX is not a gauge of wealth, Shit, next you will say refrigerators and owning a car makes them fortune 500 worthy....
I skimmed your post after clicking the link and seeing it was from the "HERITAGE FOUNDATION'' . That is NOT a credible source of factual information. And most people know that the American poverty level is considered $12,000 a year or less. That is $8,000 more a year than most countries lower class (non-poverty level)

Why is the Heritage Foundation not a source of factual information? Do you consider the Brookings Institute a source of factual information? How about the GAO? Last time I checked, you evaluate published material based on the individual merits and not some ideological criteria.

Owning a car, having an air conditioned apartment, a refrigerator to ensure the food you buy won't kill you, clean water and uninterrupted power makes the poorest Americans better off than 90% of the worlds population....that's a fact. Not to mention the poorest person in the United States has more opportunities for self-advancement than in any other country. I know the liberals like to point to western Europe as the ideal society but 10% unemployment is considered normal and there is almost zero class advancement... you better score high on a standardized test to even have the opportunity to pursue higher education, in the United States the dumbest among us get to pursue higher education even if half will never graduate.
