thought i covered this subject before
yes farmed fish can be as beneficial as wild fish
but the best wild fish is far more tasty, juicy and beneficial as farmed
most farmed fish is salmon, catfish (yuk!) and tilapia
halibut is still in the experimental stages
please not farmed salmon is atlantic salmon and the levels of pcb's and dioxin vary according to allowable standards by country
us and canada have the lowest
scottish tend to be the highest
i don't like the habit of refeeding processed fish matter to the stock
cannabalism is what it is and we have seen that it is not a healthy thing to do
ie mad cow's, now avian flu
and i worry about this new hi omega 3 milk where they feed the cows fish meal
damn cows are vegan by nature
that is wrong
back to fish
wild salmon i find it the best, tastiest and i believe the most benefical
i choose fish that are spawned from very cold and long run rivers
best known is the copper river salmon
anyone having tried this will find it is phenom
the japanese love the fraiser river salmon and buy up most of the stock and pay up to a 1000$ a kilo for the best sushi grade salmon from this river
i personally love bristol bay salmon
these are spawned from the rivers that feed into bristol bay (between alaska and siberian peninsula)
how ever you cut it, you have to eat it to reap the rewards
so many people do not
or only do once in a while
and please dear gods do not overcook it
the omega 3 oils melt at a low temperatures so you are just cooking away your money
imho
