Whey protein consumption

I have heard 40 grams at a time, but I have also heard from credible sources that there is no limit. I would limit it to about 40 though to be safe.
 
I think people normally start off low ~30-40? But the body does become acustomed to the intake and retains more protein, the more you consume. So yeah it can be unlimited but it all depends on the person. If you are intaking upwards of 40g of protein in a sitting make sure you are consuming ample water. Lots of protein is very hard on your kidneys.
 
In a fasted state it's likely a substantial portion of whey's amino acid's are converted to glucose based on the biore study. I'm not a big fan of whey outside the workout window, milk isolate is superior as a general purpose protein. With a micro filtered milk isolate you get all of the benefits of a gently processed whey and casein, the microfractions remain intact.
