Do you think the government should legalize steroids?

Women need hormones to regulate their bodies when they go thru a "change of life" and to regulate their "periods". As a male gets older his Test and Hormone levels decrease. That being said I wish Medical Doctors were more opened minded with prescribing Test and Hormones for men that are deficient in those areas. Nowadays esp. with Congress getting involved with this whole M.L.B. issue, I believe that Dr's. are going to be extra careful when prescribing these agents. But I believe that all drugs should be legal under a Dr's care.

<p>I'm asking all readers and members to take the <a href="http://bodybuilding.elitefitness.com/legal-steroids" target="_blank">Legal Steroids</a> Poll on Facebook. The legal steroids poll is titled "<a href="http://apps.facebook.com/opinionpolls/poll.php?pid=ABBCzs1ZZgY" target="_blank">Should all Anabolic Steroids be Decriminalized?</a>" </p> <p><a href="http://apps.facebook.com/opinionpolls/poll.php?pid=ABBCzs1ZZgY" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.elitefitness.com/images/legal-steroids.jpg" alt="Legal Steroids" width="350" height="502" border="0" align="right" /></a>There's 4 choices about how steroids could be made legal or not. They are: </p> <p>Should anabolic steroids be decriminalized? </p> <p>1. Steroids should be legal and available over the counter. </p> <p>2. Steroids are legal with a doctor's prescription for medical and cosmetic use. </p> <p>3. Legal steroids only for medical use - illegal for cosmetic use - like now. </p> <p>4. Illegal for medical use and illegal for cosmetic use. </p> <p>Choice #1 would mean anyone age 18 and over could go to a store and buy legal steroids just like they can legally buy alcohol now. </p> <p>Choice #2 is what EliteFitness.com has always advocated. Working with a doctor, you can use <a href="http://bodybuilding.elitefitness.com/legal-steroids" target="_blank">legal anabolic steroids</a> for both medical purposes and for cosmetic proposes. Right now, if a doctor prescribes anabolic steroids for anything other than a medical condition, both you and the doctor have committed a felony. If we had choice #2, athletes and bodybuilder could safely use legal steroids under a doctors supervision - kind of like a doctor can now per scribe other pharmaceuticals like Botox or Retin A for cosmetic use. The black market for steroids would shrink and we would keep steroids away from kids as a result. </p> <p>Choice #3 is what we have now. A doctor can prescribe <a href="http://bodybuilding.elitefitness.com/legal-steroids" target="_blank">legal steroids</a> for a medical condition, but it is a crime to prescribe them for physique enhancement. If the doctor tries to write you a script for say testosterone to help your bodybuilding goals, both you and he can get in big trouble. Lastly, choice #4 would be even more draconian that what we have now - this would be a total ban of all legal steroids.</p> <p>Please help make your opinion know and vote on the Facebook poll <a href="http://apps.facebook.com/opinionpolls/poll.php?pid=ABBCzs1ZZgY" target="_blank">should anabolic steroids be decriminalized</a>. I look forward to reading your comments and checking out the results.</p>

Legalize it for sure, let uncle sam tax it just like tobacco and alcohol. If steroids were really dangerous, then where are all the bodies? Yeah, there are sides with them, but someone can get some sort of side effect from eating too much candy too. Steroids just get way too much bad press in the media.

I say legalize steroids. Have a certain age to legally aquire them and proper instruction for optimal gains while on them and how to come off with minimal side effects. What if kids get ahold of them? Well, kids get ahold of guns, booze, tobacco, street drugs, porn, you name it. If someone wants something, they are gonna get it anyway.

I think as long as I'm not hurting anyone, violating anyone else's rights, or doing an obvious wrong I should be able to choose for myself. With that being said, I believe having to breathe a person's cigarette second hand smoke in public is more harmful than walking by a person who just did some coke, pot, or whatever else they consume which has no effect on me. If we like it (cigarettes, alcohol for example) it will sell, therefore it could be taxed. The govt should dig that. Legalize it, quality control everything, tax and sell it. I think steroids are in the same boat, except.....oh yeah: steroids only enhance ones physique, better one's health, lead to a longer more active life, & improve a person's mental status. I'm all natural, but I can see when I'm old that I'd prefer to be fit, strong, independent rather than aging, withering away, and becoming a burden on my family. I'm all for legalizing something that can be used in such a positive way under the right circumstances.

If individuals wanting a sex change are allowed to take hormones to change their appearance or go to the extreme of changing gender, then hormone therapy for physique enhancement should certainly be legal. I noticed that someone mentioned that it would be easier to obtain them and that would be bad for newbies. Accessibility would not really change just the legality.Today, it is as easy as getting on the web, ordering your juice, and wu'ing the cash. Once legalized it would still take a trip to the DR. and the pharmacy. If anything, it would likely be harder for young people to obtain them by DR.
The bold.
