I would incorporate them in to you routine every now and then just for a change. Otherwise, i would just stick to heavy, weighted dips.

Declines are an absolute must for my anatomy.
It's not that my lower chest is lacking it is that my shoulders do way to much of the work while I bench, Jay Cutler and Paul Dillet have the same problem.

my chest routince goes as such
3 sets Decline Flye's
3 sets Flat Dumbell Press
3 sets Incline Dumbell Flye's
2 sets Cable Crossovers (higher rep)

The trick to Flye's is to do them heavy and bend your arms a lot.

I know what works for me, Good luck finding what does for you!

There are arguements on both sides of this issue. Some feel just like your friend, that they are useless. And then there's others who get a great deal out of them.

I personally do decline work, presses and flys. Bu on presses, I agree with pumpup! For me, the dumbbells are much more effictive on the lower chest than the bar. I've found that you tend to involve your shoulders much more with the bar on all of the variations of the press, (flat, incline, decline.)

It definitely depends on the physique one does have - but how many guys have you seen that have laggin' lower chest... Most of the people have trouble with the upper pecs, not the lower ones. So unless you're one of those specials, focus on the inclines rather than declines. Remember, flat BB/DB bench does a lot for your lower chest. I personally begin with incline BB (DB)followed by flat DB (BB) at this time (until I change my routine a bit again - nothin' works forever). Mylo
