i've been recovering from tendonitis and a crooked patella in my right knee. so i have been hammering my upper body since i havn't been able to work legs; however, i seem to be getting a chest/back imbalance (tightness in my rotator cuff). my right arm is especially tight from my "chest bastard" days of ignorant training. i plan to correct this by strengthing my back.

old plan:

chest
none
back/shoulders
none...

new plan:

bicep/tricep
deadlift day (knee can now handle this)
back/shoulders
day off....

i plan to do this for one month along with stretching my rotator cuffs daily.

i also am asymmetrical (left side is larger).

for the first 2 weeks - 1 month i plan to do 3-4 sets with both arms followed by 4-6 sets right side only. then whenever i feel my right side is caught up i will resume normal lifting.

what puzzles me about this imbalance is that my 10 rep on rows is only 30 lbs less than my 10 rep on benchpress. and my 10 rep on pulldowns is even closer (20 lbs).

Agree w/rexie. Also, when working your arms try just using dumbells and start with your weak side and make that the limit that you do with your strong side as well. Would'nt try and train independently.

Just a suggestion about your rotators. I would start now to do some rotator cuff exercises twice a week like L-Flyes. I would also make sure you stretch them but I am not sure I would stretch them everyday. They too need some days off to recover.

thanks for all the suggestions. yea i figured that bout the days off from stretching, definitely are a little sore after a hard session. i've been using dumbbells about 80% of the time as is. always do the same amount for both sides but the right seems to be lagging still. i lost some size after an arm surgery. guess i'll just keep at it with the dumbbells unless it continues to get further out of proportion.
