I'm as pale as they get, im going to Vegas the first week in March, and i dont wanna go there being as white as I am. What are your favorite tanning lotions? I have never tried them before, but a lot of people complain of steaking and looking orange.

If I didn't wear self-tanner all the time, people would mistake me for a corpse! I have tried just about every kind there is, and I think Banana Boat creme is the best as far as performance and value for day to day use. You can find it in most drug and grocery stores. It has good color and is not too smelly. I put it on every 3 days or so before going to bed. I buy the extra dark shade, and that works fine even on my paper-white skin. (My husband would definitely say something if I looked orange!)

Another good one is Copper Tone, it is oil free and has a scent that isnt killer!! The dark shade is the best. I usually use the tanning lotions and then I tan once a week, and it really gets me dark

Nnother vote for Banana Boat dark.

Make sure you wear gloves so your hands don't turn brown. At the end you can squirt a little cream on a tissue and apply it to the tops of your hands to make the color blend.

I hope you all are kidding. If you are serious about tanning...email me. I work at a tanning distributorship and can get ANY GOOD lotion that you could imagine at a very cheap price.

Banna boat and the such is not the way that you want to go...trust me. I see tanning lotion and accessories for a living.

B Fold - what do you recommend for face only...I'm using Ban De Soliel or however the hell you spell it.

Please excuse my timeless ness. My internet company is switching providers and my connection is off and on all day. I do not really reccommend a seperate or special face tanning lotion. I use the same stuff on my face as I do my body...but most people do not. Try to purchase a small bottle of a really light tanning lotion for your face. Power tan makes a few ones in their Liquid Sun line. They are little blue bottles (4.5 oz) and I think that they will probably sell for about $8 for the new sun bottle. Use whatever you usually use for your body and use this one on your face. It is very very light and very well put together. It has no smell and contains really expensive ingredients. I met with their senior VP in December and he really sold me on their products.

Let me know if I can help anyone on here. I can sell the products to tanning salons mostly at a very competitive rate. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about beds or lotions.

Thanks

Why don't you just post up a price list, make us tan and gorgeous, and make some extra $ for yourself?

If anyone is interested...please let me kmow. I do not like posting on the net what I sell at work. I can give you my website for work. We are in the process of updating. If you would like to be placed on our wholesaler's list...let me know and I will give you the directions on how to contact us and what information you need to have. I only work 2-3 days a week right now...but busy season will pick up very quickly and I will be there more often.

I mostly deal with tanning beds and technical support...but know a little about lotions too, he he.

ONLY USE ESTEE LAUDER SELF TANNER!!!!! It's a bit more expensive then some of the other brands mentioned but if you use it once, you'll never go back to anything else!!!!!! I'm Swedish and Norwegian (super blond hair, super pale skin)and this stuff does not streak or look fake. I use the golden but I think most people could get by with the dark.

My only question BFold about the selftanners is will it stain my clothing? I have used several products and the ones that gave me the degree of darkness that I desired came off on clothing (ie DreamTan and Protan). I realize that the two products I mentioned are for competition and not truly daily use, but the products I've used for daily use which DID NOT stain my clothing (BanDeSoliel) and some other shee-shee expensive brand only got me so dark. I am caucasion and am on the darker side - tan easily/rarely burn. But I don't like to do the tanning beds unless it is necessary.

So I guess what I am saying is, do you carry a product that will get me "near show dark" WITHOUT staining clothing. As you can guess I am asking this in reference to color for photographs - NOT competition.

Please let me know ASAP. THANX!

WoW!!! Never thought that bikinimom would post a reply to me. It is an honor.

Honestly...no, there is not a lotion that is going to get you to a competition tan or anything like that. The good self tanners, the ones that do not look fake, are not going to get you extremely dark. Just my opinion though. Wish I could help you. I do sell some that work really well though.

If there is ever anything that I can do to help you out...just let me know. I would be glad to help you all I can.

I have a question. I am extremely pale and I burn real easy. Say if I were in the sun for an hour I would be a lobster (ouch). If I were to use a tanning bed, would I get a tanning result or would it be the same?

You just need to condition your skin to the sun. Pick a salon that you trust and has at least beds with 32 lamps in them. Try to go in a 30 minute bed. Go for 5 minutes...3x a week for a week. Go for 10 minutes 3x for the next week. If they have a 20 minute bed...go for 10 minutes in them on the 3rd week 3x. Just slowly progress. The skin burns from lack of moisturization. PERIOD!!! As you develop a tan your body develops the ability to store moisture.

Apply moisturizing lotion 3x a day, everyday. Apply it immediately after tanning also. Drink lots of water and use a soft soap. Shower no earlier than 2 hours after you tan.

Tanning accellerator does nothing more than basically super moisturize your skin and it adds a few things in there that may increase the effects of the sun. The lotion will help with your moisturization process even after you tan.

Tingle factor lotion: does very little if anything at all. It is a marketing scheme. Do I use a lotion with a tingle....YES...the hotter the better, but is just a mental thing. If I am selling lotion...I sell the tingle because it costs more, but I do not think that it improves your tan very much. Remember...the best quality lotions, made out of the best products, also tend to put a tingle in with the lotions too. They are good salesmen.

I feel like I am being ripped off everytime I buy lotion from a tanning salon. Are there any good discount/outlet chains in the Midwest? B True, what do you think of Brown Sugar?

I am no expert at tanning lotions but there is a site called abettertan.com that has lotions cheaper than the salons. They charge a ton at salons. I like swedish beautys platinum or body invests scarlett. They both have tingle factors and are hot!! Everyone is different and some may not like that tingle

I sell lotions at wholesale. Let's say that the average lotion should retail to a customer at $50. The most that they are allowed to discount is 25% most of the time. I sell them the same bottle of $50 for $25. That's not too bad all considering.

Email me if you are interested in buying from the company that I work for.

I really like the Tan Incorporated products. Their company is really easy to work with too. Makes a big difference from my standpoing where I purchase from them. I have used their brown sugar, and ultra 20. They now have an ultra 100, but have not used it yet. Their products are decently priced too.
