Here's another interesting study which is not applicable to your average bodybuilder (who supposedly eats many small, well balanced meals throughout the day). But for all of you who have not yet seen the light, this study indicates it might not be great for you to have a BIG breakfast.
Short-term (2 weeks) effects of the consumption of a high-energy (700 kcal)) or low-energy (100 kcal)) breakfast on dietary patterns, blood variables and energy expenditure were compared in ten free-living healthy young men in a crossover study.

So I can assume that consuming a moderate energy bkfst is right in line?? All of my meals are fairly equal in calorie value - bkfst does have the most carbs though. If I ate only 100cals at bkfst (I used to try) I'd be hungry before I left for work!

My preference for breakfast: Bob Evan's 2-servings turkey breast grilled all followed by a nap. Then I start thinking about lunch. F1

My "Filler Up" breakfast: One 12 oz chicken fried steak (with extra milk gravy of course), three eggs over easy, hashbrowns, two slices of sourdough bread, and a large stack of pancakes, four cups of coffee, one glass of water, one glass of juice. Stats: ------------------ Lobo

Oh my, Warlobo, that does sound yummy. Thanks for posting that by the way. Ya know that I am a closet carb nut at night. I'm headed to the kitchen right now, dammit. j/k My fav diet breakfast: half a dozen egg whites mixed with oatmeal and wheat germ to make pancakes. Top with sliced bananas and low sugar rasberry jam. Fav cheat breakfast: Biscuits with sausage gravy and grits with gobs of butter! |
