I'm looking for comments on Pyruvate supplementation. Is it a thermogenic or a fat burner-type? Anyone wanna take this stuff before? Thanks in advance! - FatCow

I tried it a few months ago. I did not find it really potent for fat loss but It gave me a little more energy (I usually feel quite tired on diet). It is thought to prevent leptine levels from declining too much which may be useful.

FatCow,

All the research on pyruvate was done with huge amounts. If I remember correctly it was around 1.5 to 2 grams daily. It could get real expensive, better to use real gear.

Yup, up around 6 grams if you want to see results from it.

"Major leading universities have published these studies and have proven pyruvateto be effective."

Pyruvic acid has undergone more than 25 years of clinical research for its effectiveness on fat loss, weight loss, fat regain, endurance and overall safety when used as a dietary supplement.
Major leading universities have published these studies and have proven pyruvate, (pyruvic acid stabilized by forming a "salt" when combined with sodium. Calcium, potassium or magnesium) to be effective. These studies show that pyruvate helped to increase muscular endurance in the arms and legs by 20%. Arm muscles increased work time before reaching exhaustion by 23 minutes, legs by 13 minutes. There was also a 20% decrease in perceived level of exertion, meaning that the task simply was easier to complete while using pyruvate.

It is believed that endurance is increased because the transport of glucose into the muscle cell is enhanced. This is known as "glucose extraction" and refers to the amount of glucose extracted by the muscles from circulating blood. The pyruvate increased glucose extraction by 300% after one hour in the arm endurance study, and by 60% in the leg endurance study.
Part Increase
Arms 20%
Legs 20%
Exertion 20%

"Pyruvate was shown to increase overall weight loss in dieters by 37%, and increase overall fat loss by 48%"

Now lets review the impressive results. Pyruvate was shown to increase overall weight loss in dieters by 37%, and increase overall fat loss by 48% *. Pyruvate was also shown to be effective in fighting fat and weight replacement that is experienced after a period of calorie restriction is followed by excess caloric consumption. Two potential mechanisms by which pyruvate enhances fat and weight loss are through increasing metabolism and fat utilization.
Weight reduction with pyruvate usage is achieved by increasing the membrane potential of mitochondria and stimulating cellular respiration. Pyruvate has been shown to promote cellular fat consumption instead of glucose which helps decrease fat deposits.. Add to this fact that pyruvate has been shown to be safe even at high doses and you have an extremely effective, multi purpose product.

Another interesting webpage with Pyruvate studies quoted...
http://www.pinnaclebody.com/pyruvate.htm

They too suggest at least 5-6 grams daily for optimum effect. Also mentioned is that in one study they combined the Pyruvate intake with 250 mcg of chromium. Hmmm.

Would anyone recommend taking this combination during a "gain mass" workout regimine (vs a "get lean" regimine with lots of cardio)? Or should I not confuse the program? While trying to put on size, I'd like to remain relatively lean. - FatCow

Rotten, Decadon, or any of you bros know if incorporating Pyruvate in my cycle of T3 & Clen, taking all 3 simutaniously, is okay to do? Or would there be a downfall to doing this? Please let me know.

Thanks
~BM~
