Canadian rules football (Im not a football fan, but I hear our rules make the game more exciting)...not a big deal in my area though.
Hockey is the hoohaa...all the babes dated the hockey players..FB players were all just big goofs.

Yeah hockey is big but I played it when I was young and here there is fucken groupies for hockey teams, in high school and university well it rules, everyone one of them has a team, I think it's a joke but ah well seems like the whole country is a joke. I have a few buddies that plays in the CFL and I go watch their game when they invite me and stuff but I only started to watch NFL this year (I never watched football before) and I like it.

CURLING??????? I don't know anyone that curls...my mom did about 30 years ago, but no one since then.

Baseball and hockey are basically the 2 biggest sports in the Toronto area.

....oh yeah, and I got an "A" in high school for igloo building

At my high school we play 4 downs for football, Intresting now that I think of it. We're in canada so I figure it should be 3 downs, but its four, and no, we dont have a school hockey team.

Canadian linguistics 101 :
The word eh is usually added to the end of a statement to elicit an affirmation from the party or parties being addressed, ie "those fuck'n americans think they are pretty smart, eh?"
I actually travel throughout the US on business quite often, and have noticed parallels in other regional dialects, ie people adding "you know what I am sayin'" to the end of every sentence, or the rednecks in kentucky adding "huh" where the "eh" would go...
This should help you ignorant american bastards understand us better eh?
peace,
ILLmatic

Thanks Ill! So where does the over expression of vowel sounds come from?

You know like we say the word about with an "ouht" phonetic and you guys use "ouwt" type of phonetic. At least that's what I'm hearing.

Seriously linguistics is sort of a hobby of mine.

CANADIANS SUCK ASS, EH?
AND ANYONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND SAYS
"YES THEY DO"

I SEE HOW IT ASKS FOR A RESPONSE...

Nooooo Yawwwk Ciddy (sort of sounding like a chicken hawk)

...my company has offices in Rochester and Chicago, and the Yanks get mad because I can imitate their accents perfectly.

Kat the accent from New York is predomenantly Italian in origin, mainly Northern Italy. It runs from NY to Philly.

The HARD Edged voices with the crisp word endings come from central england, primarely Central London.

The Southern "drawl" is a form of "jack-a-bean" english that originiated in the working class neighberhoods of southern london.

MB you got it now Bro LMAO good one
And Wodin, I am not sure on the pronunciation of out and about..most people I know in Toronto speak in a manner that is very similar to a newscaster on a major US network, I call this "normal" english.
Now lets compare this to say someone from Buffalo, or Nashville, or Brooklyn...
On the otherhand....Canada is a big place, some of you in the US may know about East Coast Canadians...one Province in particular called Newfoundland, you want to talk about a fucked up dialect, these inbred fuks wrote the book...I guess you'd call them the Canadian hillbillies...a waste of welfare (social assistance)
peace,
