Today, women have way more possibilities for success open to them than do men. The world is not run by the physically strongest or most belligerent male anymore, instead, it is run by the intellect and desires of a combination of many co independent actors. What possible influence does a single woman have over her universe? She can be a wicked mathematician, or a stateswoman, or an astronaut, just like any man, and in addition, she has her sex to offer. A man does not have this leverage, he is restricted to directly using his skills to obtain what he wants. A man who wants sex must eventually ask for it, and since pleasurable sex must be consensual, it is always the woman who sits as judge and makes that decision. This fundamental choice gives her great power. Just the potential of being able to make this choice gives a woman great power. This is totally obvious. So, in my opinion, women have it all. They can compete like all us guys on the "equal playing field", and in addition, they have the biological meta advantage of making the sexual choices. I just don't believe that women have been "repressed" by men throughout history, and that finally, now is their only chance to live out their true potential. If anything, we men, are at great disadvantage, and are "repressed", because what we use to have as resources such as, safety, money, etc. are not valuable to you ladies anymore, since it is easy enough for you to procure such things for yourself. Why aren't people getting married any more? Because women are all greedily fighting for their own lot and want all of their powers ready and at hand for that precious instant of opportunity. "Gosh, if I get married then I will only have my skills to move me forward; I would loose my trump card, and that would put me a rung down the ladder", thinks the modern woman. She might not be as clear about it to herself, but that is what she is thinking. Society ignores the fact that everybody wants to fuck, and that peoples lives revolve around sexual relationships, and that somehow, control of the sexual arena is not in anyway related to financial or other success. Society is full of this kind of stupid liberal bullshit, and women are simply taking advantage of it. Who wouldn't? Flame away!    | ||

Women's advancement really has nothing to do with sex. As you said yourself, pleasurable sex must be consensual by both partners. In the past marriage was necessary. One person could not maintain a household because of the amount of physical labor that was involved. The men cared for livestock, grew crops, and handled matters outside of the home. Women cared for the children, taught, and prepared meals. It was impossible for one person to handle all of these responsibilities and one could not survive without the other. As modern inventions made life easier women's responsibilities increased while men's decreased. Women did the grocery shopping and other various errands that were once done by men. Men were the financial providers. As divorced increased, women realized they must be able to support themselves if the need arose. Now you have women doing everything the men once did. Women's independence started because of a need and is now a preference. Women were not "repressed" purposely by men. That is just how the duties were divided. There are no excuses today. Men and women have the same opportunities. If you feel repressed, it is not by women. You can only hold yourself back. If I had my choice, I would much rather stay at home and raise my future children. But because there is a chance that my husband will leave me and my family I must always be willing and able to earn a living. (This is also true for women who walk out on their families.) | ||
