Shit, I don't know how to explain this so bare with me. Does anyone know the name of the song that was on the commercial for Madden 2001. I've seen it in other places too, like when they showed highlights at the Flyers game tonight. Anyone know what I'm talkin bout?
And why the frig is my Napster being a pain in my ass and not logging on?

Its sounds like (from your description) it could be Beethoven : Symphony No. 5.. Some more good classical jam are these.. Grieg..In the Hall of the Mountain King, also Tchaikovsky--1812 Overture.. And also (as you can probably tell from my screen name) I love the music from Phantom of the Opera....

Carmina Burana by Carl Orff and the name of the song is Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi. Orff is second fav. composer. Herr Ludwig Von Beethoven of course being number 1.

What's the name of that tune that you hear in almost every movie trailer or at the finale of every movie.
I know it was at the end of the movie Glory for sure and now it's the music for that new EA sports commercial for the playstation 2.

I have a translation to O Fortuna at home somewhere.. it was on a symphony program when I heard it live last season.

Some of the other translations in the Carmina Burana suite is .. hmm.. pornographic perhaps? .

Da da da... damn y'all don't know latin?

O Fortuna, velut luna
statu variabilis,
semper crescis
aut decrescis;
vita detestabilis
nunc obdurat
et tunc curat
ludo mentis aciem,
egestatem,
potestatem
dissolvit ut glaciem.
Sors immanis
et inanis,
rota tu volubilis,
status malus,
vana salus
semper dissolubilis,
obumbrata
et velata
michi quoque niteris;
nunc per ludum
dorsum nudum
fero tui sceleris.

Sors salutis
et virtutis
michi nunc contraria,
est affectus
et defectus
semper in angaria.
Hac in hora
sine mora
corde pulsum tangite;
quod per sortem
sternit fortem,
mecum omnes plangite

The translation is this.. not a very happy little tune at all.

O Fortune,
like the moon
you are changeable,
ever waxing
and waning;
hateful life
first oppresses
and then soothes
as fancy takes it;
poverty
and power,
it melts them like ice.

Fate - monstrous
and empty,
you whirling wheel,
you are malevolent,
well-being is in vain
and always fades to nothing,
shadowed
and veiled
you plague me too;
now through the game
I bring my bare back
to your villainy.

Fate is against me
in health
and virtue,
driven on
and weighted down,
always enslaved.
So at this hour
without delay
pluck the vibrating strings;
since Fate
strikes down the strong man,
everybody weep with me!

Dude, if its the same theme in "Apocolypse Now" (I dig war movies) its an opera by Richard Wagner (known nazi) entitled "The Ride of the Valkeries". Totally awesome tune, but Orff is cool as hell too AS IS ALL HARD-ASS, BAD-ASS GERMAN MILITARY OPERA!!!

Guys: I just found out some kids on the other team decided to talk shit cause I compared my hitting style to those of Scott Stevens in the NHL. Now I haven't perfected it, but I said when I catch a guy w/ his head down I'll do it as close to Stevens as possible.
You guys know me to be modest, but I do have to give myself some credit here. I'm not big compared to you guys, but 152 @ 10% is good compared to kids my age. They may outweigh me w/ a higher bf %age or they're leaner w/ alot less weight. Also I can outsquat all of them, once again no props are given to me. If I level someone they'll try to downsize my hit. What pisses me off was the kids who talked shit can't out-anything me, ones a fat ass piece of shit whos lucky if he can see his dick, the other can touch his chest and back at the same time. I know I ain't huge, but I sure as hell ain't like them.
Sorry for the rant here, but I wouldn't be as pissed if this was said to my face and not behind my back. Tonight I'm gonna force them into giving me props by crashin the net, dishin out Wu hits, score goals (hopefully) and settin up plays.
(I don't know why I posted this here. Just seen a thread I made and figured I'd toss it in)
