And you remember those stories about how the White House was vandalized for hundreds of thousands of "your tax dollars!" as every right-wing nut on the radio repeated for weeks on end? They were bullshit, too. Here are Dubya's final words on the alleged incidents: "There might have been a prank or two, maybe somebody put a cartoon on the wall, but that's OK. It's time now to move forward." Of course, the fact that he only came out and admitted the stories were false after Clinton called him on his bluff by demanding a full independant accounting of the non-existant damages sorta mitigates the sincerity level of his retraction.

Why, only a week prior to Dubya's about-face, his press secretary Ari Fleischer told a credulous press gathering that there was such a stunning amount of damage done that the White House had to hire a team of investigators to catalogue the damage! His later backing-off on these ridiculous statements (after Clinton's aforementioned request for verification) seem to indicate that he was caught in a rather cruel and malicious slander, but I'm sure the beleaguered former First Family are willing to take whatever compromised retractions they can get at this point in the "Get Clinton" game.

Anyhoo, I guess what yer old pal Jerky is saying is that after a solid week of front-page, top-of-the-cycle reporting on these incidents, it would have been only just for the subsequent retractions to be featured a bit more prominently in the media. In fact, I don't think Brit "World's Worst Dad" Hume, Fox News's most prominent Clinton hater, who accused the Clinton's of stealing "blankets, pillowcases, silverware" from AF1 has even mentioned the retraction on his bought-and-paid-for GOP love-in. And CNN's Kate O'Bierne, who claimed that "during Bill Clinton's final flight, the plane was stripped bare... Air Force One souvenirs were quickly posted for auction online. Why not make a final buck off the White House? Outrageous, but not surprising," still has a job, as far as I can tell.

Could it be that our sacrosanct journalistic institutions are trying to curry favor with the new regime, in the hopes of scoring those coveted one-on-one interviews that so rarely come around? Or perhaps these spokespersons for the Fourth Estate are simply acting on orders from On High, those billionaire media moguls who currently own 99.9% of our nation's media, and who stand to rake in mucho moola if Bush's ill-conceived tax plans go through?

Both explanations are outrageous, but not surprising.

Somehow I got the reputation of being teh world's biggest GW Bush fan. I'm not. The 2 party system is an evil creatrue that suppresses our citizenry.

I was very pro-Bush during the campaign because of Gore and Liebermann. Gore learned right by Clinton's side...and men with less integrity than Clinton would be hard to find.....even in rural Arkansas.

Liebermann completely compromised his "beliefs" to the point where many Jewish leaders were telling him to shut up.

And lastly, Gore was just fully out of touch with the Armed Forces.

Yes and no. Canadian tend to listen less to the ammount of propoganda that is spread throughout the world, and this includes the US, and rely on our own personal conclusions.

The thing I hate about my fellow Canadians is
