You definately want to improve on previous score.

FWIW - One of many links:
http://www.mshq.net/recruiter.shtml

What is the ASVAB and how important is this test? Would you suggest studying before taking the test?

>>>Snip<<<

The test is broken down into several different areas. The AFQT score is the criteria that must be met for enlistment in general. Once the required score is attained, then the rest of the test is sectioned off to qualify for different jobs. Numerous variables are taken into consideration here and place the individuals in areas that they are best qualified for. It is also used by some of the high school counselors for students wanting to go on to college and need help in figuring out what type of degree they should pursue. As for studying for the ASVAB, it is based around a 10th-grade level and normally the only areas of study would be to freshen up on advanced math or basic algebra. All questions have multiple-choice answers. Two of which seem totally out of reasoning and one fairly close to correct. It is not a trick test, but it does require some thinking. Each section is timed and the proctor is very strict on the time limitations. Most libraries have an ASVAB study guide available. One other source of study material that I used to recommend is the CLEP Test study guide, also available in most libraries.

Later,

Go to amazon and type ASVAB in the search. You will probably get some great study guides or other types of manuals that will prep you for test. The better you do, the better job you will given. So I highly recommend that you take this exam VERY seriously and spend up to a few months to prepare if you feel you need it.

When I enlisted back in 1996 I scored a 19 on the pratice test. Took the real ASVAB and scored a 50. Depending on which branch you go into, a 50 or higher is great. I am in the Army and got a great job with a 50. Just take it and have fun. Relax and think, and have fun at MEPS they love new guys...

Good job big buck, I got a 94 on the last one I took 1999. Up 10 points from first one in 1983

Don't do what I did.
I went out drinking the entire night before.
Recruiter was waiting to take me when my buddies dropped me off. Man I was a wasted.
Still got a 69 - but what a long day. I was so happy at lunch that I could get some food. Then all afternoon I thought I was going to chuck all over this chic infront off me.
Its just long and boring - you'll do fine.
