I DISAGREE.MILLIONS HAVE BEEN MURDERED SENSELESSLY IN THE NAME OF GOD.ALSO GOD CREATES HATRED AMONG THOSE WHO BELIVE VERSUS THOSE WHO DONT.ABOLISH IT ALL TOGETHER AND YOU HAVE NO DISSENTION. I'd be willing to be this is another SPAM e-mail sent around trying to evoke emotion...I highly doubt that guy had that in his head when he talked... It was a TRAGEDY, but I agree that it does not compare with many of the atrocities going on everyday across the world... This is why I'm a Libertarian, 'cause I think religion is seen as either 1-a crutch, or 2-the answer to the world's problems...and to both, I call BULLSH*T! ------------------ | ||

1st off I'd like to say thats one good speech, if that is exactly or very close to what this man said (if this is not just more spam) I don't think it could of been said much better or more accurate. And second Frackal, I didn't see it say anywhere that prayer in school will prevent this kind of thing.And to THE STEEL BEAST, YOU DISAGREE.MILLIONS HAVE BEEN MURDERED SENSELESSLY IN THE NAME OF GOD. One of the ten commandments is Thou Shall Not Kill, so what that means that anyone who Murders is not doing it in the name of god. It is sort of like the Boston Tea Party, the people dressed up or posed as Indians and threw all of the Tea into the water destroying it, now that dosen't mean the Indians did it, some one was claiming or pretending to be indian who really were not. Just like in the same way people claim to do things in the name of god or sometimes really think they are doing something in the name of god when they really are not. | ||

That's it Cleaner. Steel - No one has killed over spirituality. In the name of a church has many a slaughter been carried out. It;s different. People weren't killing over belief in God. They were killing BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE said that God wanted them to. Note that he doesn;t speak of religion, only spirituality. Badkins - He's not talking about organized religion. The word doesn't even appear in the text of the speech, except as a criticism of televangelism. He's asking for spirituality - world of difference. |
