Do you need 3des encryption software? do you want IP cards in either slot0 or slot1?

Someone mentioned we get a %60 discount, and are able to purchase up to $5000 per year.

I dont think they would need the 3DES sw, that is for VPN, what are the IP cards you are talking about? I'm not familiar with them.

George, are you looking at the 515R or 515UR?

I will check and see what type of price I can get for you. I think in order for you to get JohnnyO's discount you would have to send him the cash/check to buy it.

For slot0 our choices are a PIX-1FE, or a PIX-4FE.

For slot1 our choices are a PIX-PL2 Private Link card and the PIX-VPN-ACCEL Firewall accelerator card, as well as the 1FE and 4FE.

I don't know what discount we give distributors, I know our retail list prices are sky high!

I see, you just called them something different.

The need for slot cards will depend on which PIX George chooses for a firewall.

George,
How many users internally will this firewall be protecting? Check Point has a solution for about $5000 that would fit. Software will run on Solaris, NT, AIX and HP-UX. VPN client software works on all Windows based machines. You can also use PGP for VPN connections or anything else that supports IPSec. Not trying to downplay the PIX, it's a very good product, just want you to know there are other choices....

FireWall-1 Protects company resources and secures Internet communications

VPN-1 SecureClient Secures VPN traffic with integrated desktop firewall protection

FloodGate-1 Delivers reliable QoS for critical users and applications

Reporting Module Generates powerful security and network usage reports

Open Security Extension Enables policy-based router security

Software Subscription Provides one year of software updates
