All of a sudden I am having problems w/ my computer telling me that "an internal error has occured" It shuts me off the internet everytime...It also has been telling me that an error has occured in Windows and it freezes up and I cant do anything but cut it off at the tower...

I downloaded compuserve 6.0 last week and it seems like when all this crap started...I have done the disc defragmenter, disc cleanup and everything I can think of...Im no genius at this though!!! Can someone help????

two things:
1) check to see if you bumped the machine and knocked your ram loose - if it is loose, then sometimes you'll get some crashes like that (or if it is just bad ram - but then it wouldn't have likely worked prior to that).
2) reinstall windows and don't use compuserve.

if those don't do it, then you could format your drive and then reinstall.

it could be something much smaller, but if you do those, it will likely fix it - when I was always dicking with my computers in college, those would solve most of the bigger problems

RAM are (is?) the chips on the inside of your computer... well, they are one of the sets of chips. it is the "short term memory" of the computer (stand for Random Access Memory).
In order to check it, you would need to open the case and look inside... but don't worry, the magic of the computer will still work, you won't break a thing. you only really need to try that if you think you bumped the computer pretty solidly.

I would first call or e-mail computerserve and describe the problem to them - they have customer service and it could very well be a known problem with their software that they can tell you how to resolve. and since you are paying for their service, they should help you out.
