I understand the resentment for the Confederate flag, but history cannot be re-written because it is unpopular. If anything, it should remain there as a reminder that terrible mistakes were made, lest they not be made again.

Almost every group was a victim of discrimination at one time or another. History is replete with these examples. ignoring them only opens the door for them to happen again.

I am part jewish/indian and german. If you want to wear a swastika or hang it from the flag pole go for it this country is about freedoms.

I know all about discrimination and shit and you know, it happens to be the blacks that are the most racist. Not all but a majority. Have you noticed that the NAACP everytime someone does something they don't agree with says it was the whites causing problems and calls them racist?

I understand about racial pride and ethnic pride, but continuuing to make a color/ethnic/religous distinction with every other word just perpetuates the problem.

Should we not fly the US flag since we technically were not fighting the civil war to free the blacks but over other reasons? Hmmmm, I wonder.

Because someone was classifed as a slave doesn't mean by todays standards they were. Some in fact had free rein to work and leave as they pleased and some in fact today would have been considered sharecroppers but due to legal wording in the docturine of those times they were still refered to as slaves, though in some instances their crops were protected by law.

Part of my faimly is Native American and I do not see them wishing to take down the American Flag to the Generations upon Generations of Genocide that was shown to their ancestors. My Great Great Grandparents were children who surivived the Trail of Tears and as grandparents they had alot of pride waving their american flags on the reservation land they lived on when my grandfather came home as part of the first group Pow's freed in WWII. That was caught in a picture that is kept around for others in my faimly to see...

Its bullshit how people want to forget history. So many Americans died for that flag, yet because of Jessie Jackson and other bitching Civil Rights bastards, the flag is going down everywhere.

I loved the attention I got last year. Brothas kept coming up to me saying something like "What dem flags mean yo", starring me down, talking shit, yada yada, well, I love the fucking attention!!!!!! I got in a little shoving match with some dude who took offense to my flag beads. He thought it would be a good idea to try and rip them off my neck. There were about 10 of us there, all with flag beads, everyone viewed us a racist when all we were doing was sporting a piece of American History.

Basically, the only reason I sport the flag so much is because it offends so many people. I am not one to get pissed about those things but the last few years, especially being a deputy has opened my eyes. When will the rest of the country realize that the white man is not making the black or other community commit crimes, smoke crack (which has been said to have been created and distributed to blacks by white people in gov't to help supress them and keep them dependent upon white people) We don't tell them to rape, murder, steal and so forth.

There is a reason that 70% of the jail population is black. They committed the crimes. Why don't we find out why they do this and correct that. Oh, I forget we did it is called reverse racism and descrimination and handouts and free rides to college and so on. Nothing about standing on your own being accountable for your actions and so on.
