For those who dont know the story, our heroine Medea, was married to Jason (he of the ARgonauts and the Golden fleece)...she left her homeland and on bad terms to be with this guy. She gave him 2 sons.

Ayway, Jason decides he needs cash and security, so he gives old Medea the heave ho to marry the daughter of a king....the king, scared shitless of Medea banishes her and her boys from Corinth.

Now, Medea is not gonna take this lying down. she is one scored lady; she decides, well, if I cant have him and if hes just gonna leave me in the dirt, then to hell with him and his new bitch.

She poisons a wedding present to the bride..who, along with her father the king, dies. Then, realizing her sons will take the brunt of the punishment decides to kill them to "spare them worse from their enemies" and just to piss Jason off.
