Had an iomega portable cd burner hooked up to my comp. Everytime i ran it and it was close to completion, my comp shut off. The software and drive were hooked up and installed on different occasions wtf? Is my comp a piece of shit. Also would i be better off with burner going into my comp or would same result occur. Thanks for responses.
By the way i come to this board all the time but never really post, so responses are appreciated.

p.s. where can get a mp3 to wav converter program for free if this shit ever works.

When you say your computer shutoff, do you mean your monitor shutoff? You might want to adjust your energy saving features. Right click on an open area of your desktop and select properties. Then go to the screen saver tab and then click on the settings tab. You will see options to change the time the monitor shuts off and hard disks and system standby. Select never or 1 hour for all of these settings. This should do the trick if that's what you meant by saying your computer shutoff.

Winamp will convert mp3s to wavs. It's available for free downloads at www.winamp.com

Well, who knows what is going on with your computer. That is strange that it would just shut down. I would check your root hub source connection.
www.rioport.com has a great mp3-wav ripper.
