Did you guys ever see that one about the jackass who causes problems on a discussion board? After that, some of the angry members use the Internet to locate him, and...well I don't want to ruin the end if you haven't seen it. That one was even better than "The Princess bride" and "Scarface", which are some classics. [This message has been edited by MattTheSkywalker (edited February 09, 2001).]

Agent, oooh yeah! I forgot about Indiana Jones!! I about put Reservoir Dogs, but really after you see it a couple times, it loses the magic, I thought Pulp Fiction (even though it is more popular) held together much better. I'm a little disappointed in the Billy Madison and Shawshank selections... Willy Wonka I read the books first as a kid, so when I finally saw the movie, I wasn't as impressed. Slikdadd, Yeah, I tend to go for less well known items too, but the selections were still good. And I threw in Romper Stomper and Snatch, so that it wasn't completely Hollywood

It was another case of reading the book first (a number of times) and then seeing the movie... The written word (in Different Seasons) is MUCH better than the movie... ------------------ Copyright 2001 TheMachine Company, Inc.

Should look more like this 1. Matrix - Best Sci Fi concept ever plus revolutionary visual effects. [This message has been edited by 8pack (edited February 09, 2001).]

quote: We have similar tastes -- however, I would say that your comment about Matrix being the best concept ever is a little off base. If you analyze it, the Matrix concept (in a general sense) is almost a direct rip-off of the Terminator concept, thought the execution was extremely different. That said, Matrix is still a kick-ass movie!

Yea, in both movies machines take over. But matrix takes it ten steps further.

I think they're both about the plight of human existence in the presence of an ever-increasing proliferation of technological innovation and artificial intelligence. Both are about a vanishing human society due to the presence of a controlling AI element that sees humankind as inferior to itself. Both are about the struggle of a small group of individuals "in the know", against overwhelming odds.
