Does anyone know where I can order engine parts for a Pontiac 400? I'm gonna rebuild my engine and need to get some new parts like pistons and shit like that.

Summit has complete rebuild kits pretty cheap. However, I would look for the Big Bore Pontaic if I were you. The 400 and the 455 are the same size outside, but the 455 will deliver SO MUCH more!

MeanOne,
This is out of a stock, all number matching 68 GTO convertible so I don't want to change the engine. But, thanks for the suggestion. Are you into pontiacs?

Droptop,

I don't know how far you live from Carlise Pa. But, I go to the Mopar show, the open shows...etc. Every year, you can find anything and everything there....if you have extra parts you can take them and trade as well....

I finally finished helping my friend completely restore his 69 1/2 Six-Pac Dodge Super Bee....VERY NICE!!!!

I'd check there when they have the upcoming shows, plenty of parts and ideas, nice rods, muscle cars, and dudes that know their shit.....

Ranger,

Thanks for the info. I went to the show in the fall last year and plan on going again in the spring. There were alot of cars, but not too many GTOs.

Droptop,

May I also suggest that if you know any good machine shops in your area~they may be able to help you find a reliable source for parts. Those guys seem to know all the "motor heads" in every town.

My hubby is A HUGE Car freak! We do the car shows a lot! You can find a lot at those places like Ranger advised.
