I used to hate them with their fitness club mentally but they just told me my monthly rates are now going down to just $7 per month. I guess I'll be hanging with them.

$7 a month? With how much money down? Lol... I went to a Bally's once (back when I was just a newbie lifter) and they are like "yea our club is only $15 a month" and I'm like "wow cool my current gym is almost twice that." Then they tell me it's $15 a month with like $200 "starting fee" and I just laughed and left. Be very wary of Bally's, they will rape your wallet nicely if you are not careful.

I joined 3 years ago at $33 dollars a month. That's around what I paid at world gym in Connectcut. When I moved down here I said I wasn't gonna pay much more then that for a gym. Bally so I thought $33 was fair for a gym near my apt. But the $7 is a nice surprise. The told me my rates would go down after 3 years but I didn't know this much.

It's cheaper if you pay in advance .. I think I pay like $100 or so a year, something like that.

hmm... is that for the membership to get in all the ballys, or just for your club? I use the one to get into all of them, so I usually can find one if I travel.

.. and if they don't have one in the city I travel to they have some agreement with gorilla fitness to get into their gyms as well.

I can go to all of them. I think I have the lifetime membership now that I've been with them for over 3 years.

I've been swearing by Bally's for 10 years now. Yeah, it can be a meat market, but if you're there to work, you can work. Most of em have all the equipment you might need, and the staff usually stays the hell out of the way. There are always some serious lifter s there. If you can stomach the sight of newbies doing exercises wrong, I say wtf. You can't beat the price.

Bally's is a rip off! Only reason why I ever joined their ass is because it was the only gym in my neighborhood.

I've been a member there for years. I pay $218 in advance for 3 years at a time when renewal comes up. That is around $6 a month.

Mine went down Just like yours after 3 years.

ballys blasted me... i joined... 30 down, 30 a month... for the premier plus membership which had free tanning and all the goodies... good deal right? well, 30 fuckin days later, they take out the tanning beds, they take out the free weights, they put in more cardio and room for jazzersize bullshit...

well, i say FUCK OFF... and tell them i am pissed... "we will lower your rate to 27 a month"... hahahahaha thanks... the tanning was the ONLY reason i went with them... well, 9 years go by and i get sued.. i end up paying 400 fucking dollars for NEVER using their club.. they wouldnt let me out of my contract without a doc saying i was fucked completely or moving to the fuckin moon.

I agree on the DB thing...

If you do not go up to 150's you will not get my business.

That is just me.
