I've noticed that in a few places on my face, mainly my cheeks, I have slight bumps in my skin that look like acne scars. It's not really noticeable except right after tanning or with really bright lights, but it bothers me nonetheless. Is there any way to get rid of this shit?

You can get a peel or skin resurfacing.

Retin A will help some with that.

does the scar look like a little 'pit' in your sklin. thats permanant im afraid. apparently your skin heals under the bnlemish leaving that little pit. don't worry to much, they're hardly noticable.

Accutane supposedly reduces scarring if your willing to go that route.

possible treatments: alpha hydroxy peel, Retinol, vitamin e, coco butter, fade cream....extremes-acid peels, laser resurfacing

As far as sub dermal hardened scar tissue (knots under the skin) only treatment I know is some type of ultra sound to breakdown the tissue and promote healing..

Both JayO and Frackle should get to a plastic surgeon.
They can do wonders on scars and pits using lasers and peels.
And I think the reasonable prices will surprise you.

its perma man, i have the same problem. i am considering getting a full laser resurfacing. i have had consultations with a few plastic surgeons so i will tell you all the facts right here:

- there is a direct correlation between risk/reward. the deeper they go the more they can change the skin, but also more chance for problems with the surgery.

- you cannot have surgery if you are having active breakouts. having a surgery while on roids would be stupid as hell.

- if you have the surgery you will have to eat liquid foods for the first 2-3 days and will look like total shit for the first 2 weeks.

- you will continue to look bad for the next 6 weeks but it should be coverable with make up.

- you will not be able to tan for at least 6 months after surgery.

- if you have taken accutane you need to wait 6-18 months after you have stopped before having surgery. 18 months is recommended.

if you have discoloration ask your dermatologist about it. they will probably recommend hydroquinone 4%. through a combo of hydroquinone and tanning you can usually blend it VERY well, it takes some practice though. i feel pretty good about how mine looks now but will still consider surgery in the future.

oh ya here is another tip: put a very light coat of sunscreen directly on the spots that discolor after tanning, i have found this helps. since the scars have more pigment they get darker, and the sunscreen should take care of that.

Mine is not nearly bad enough to risk surgery, it's really minor.

Hopefully I'll be ok through this cycle. That's probably one of my biggest worries right now.

SCARRING IS PERMANENT, only solution is laser surgery. Retin-A?? Accutane?? I don't think so, those are both acne medications. Your better off mixing up some magic potion and rubbing it on the scars. Laser surgery is all you can do my friend.
