Single and the most done 380 for a single by a Saints player. I thought these guys were much stronger than that.

The competition was misleading. Most NFL players are not as strong as most would think. Many of them after entering the league tone down their training to concentrate on recovery. While in college they train harder to develope a foundation. Most player contracts have clauses that keep them from lifting too heavy weight and using free weights.

Willie Roaf holds the record with 405. For the lineman challenge.

That sure is week for these guys! I have seen Chad hennings of the Cowbodys flat bench, think it was 580. He surely can incline 500.

True. But imagine having to max out 20 to 30 times a in a 3 hour time limit, which is what they're supposed to do during a game. Going all out on a play is comparable to maxing out on bench or doing a real intense set of squats. These guys are SUPPOSED to getting super intense many, many times a game for 16 games plus preseason and the playoffs. If most of those guys were to lift like 400 or 500lb's when they worked out they would injure themselves as a result of physical abuse on the field and heavy strength training off the field. I guess what I'm trying to say is football players are strong mofo's in their own right.

Laroy Glover won the flat bench, as I recall, it was around 500lbs, the dude weighs in at like 260-280, we got guys on the Anabolic board who claim to bench 515 at 180lbs i.e.(scubasteve or something), YEA FUCKING RIGHT!!!

If you watched the competition Glover did 405 after he already beat Sapp just to pump uo the crowd and didnt really struggle too much either. He is a giant beast.

That was only 380. It was not a TEXAS Powerbar. It was some smaller bar that only weight 20 lbs.

I'd assume he could do more before the season starts as opposed to after getting his ass kicked for 23 weeks.

Yeah, you'd figure some of these guys could do a little more, although most concentrate more on flat bench. Warren Sapp was benching in the mid 400's coming out of college. What is the remarkable part is when these 300 lb guys run 40 yards in under 4.7 seconds, then you have a freaky athlete.

Yes, There speed is the only thing that impressed me. When I played ball and went to track(shot put) right after the season. I was getting stronger the entire season, but I also juiced the entire season. I have a little trouble with the getting weaker during the season, because I did not eat good and stayed up late nights studying, so I did not get adequate either.
