honestly, I love carbs. don't think I could ever give them up, but what about post workout? you still have to replace glycogen stores right? gluconeogenises is a timely process... so can you consume maybe 50-100g of simple carbs post workout and still maintain ketosis?

I am in a nutrition class now, and I can't help but feel as if it is a total waste of time! jesus tits! I know way more than the teacher as far as "exercise nutrition" is concerned. they will not get off there high horse as far as vegetarian diets and low protein, low-fat diets are concerned! FUCK!

No ya crazy bastard, ya can't. In ketosis, the body switches the muscles to using glucose, to almost entirely fatty acids for fuel, and ultimately providing ketone bodies (produced in the liver), diminishing the need for glucose by the brain in particular and the body in general.

There's no need to replace any kind of glucose, everything is running fine on ketones, trust me. Brain included. Kicking yourself out of ketosis by eating carbs after a workout isn't going to do you a damn bit of good. Just because your body is *used* to running off glucose doesn't mean that it will have a hard time running off something else. Hell, if the body had a hard time running off fatty acids, eskimos wouldn't exist. There have been studies in which scientists kept track of eskimo's diets for a year, and all they ate was meat and fat. What else are you going to find out there? Ice berries? Anyway, trust me, you can do a keto diet, don't say you can't. Yeah carbs are good, big deal, so are hamburger patties with bacon and cheeze. You can carb load on the weekends too you know. Or every other weekend. Think of it this way, most people call other people pussies, and say they lack willpower and determination when they cant pull a hardcore leg workout, think of yourself as one for not being able to control your diet. Doesn't that piss you off? Doesn't it piss you off when you sit back and realize that you don't have the will power to do something in particular? Kick yerself in the ass.
