Whatup.
We all know that to gain muscle= must have positive calorie balance. More than maintainance levels+highprot+highcarbs post workout.

To lose fat, = negative caloric balance.

therefore, many people say, it is impossible to do both at the same time.

*BUT* then WHY do books like Body-for_life, which are pretty well known and respected (to a certain extent) exist and stay successful? The 12 week transformation makes you lose fat and gain muscle, correcT?
PLEASE explain! Whos right?

WTf?!
Please...this has always been plaguing me...
thanks,
blood

If you're a seasoned bodybuilder that stays relatively lean year round, it becomes more and more difficult to lose fat and gain muscle. But if you're a fat newbie who's never done weights before or eaten right, then it is common to lose considerable fat AND gain muscle when you start a program like body-for-life.
